The price for them is $0.5 in BTC/ETH/BCH per 1 million private keys.
Anyone can generate with bitcoincore and running a bot on it without the need of any big computational power.

Yes. That is indeed correct. Except for the fact that Bitcoin Core crashes if you use too many.

Not if you run it in CLI mode.

I guess probably some people want to accumulate and monitor the activity of as many private keys as possible, in the hope of being the first to be able to sweep funds if deposits are ever made?

Even if it's a big waste of time... (Not to mention that people who can keep a server running 24/7 to monitor addresses are generally able to generate as many private keys as they like, so I don't understand who could buy bulk of keys to OP...)

It reminds me websites like keys.lol and others.

This is the amount of total possible keys. Just to read this number requires a couple of minutes Roll Eyes

I don't think that nobody will try something so stupid. even if you can have trillions of keys you have just 0,00000........000.....1% of the total number of keys. (I am busy now and can't provide the full answer).
How much resources this will requires? Moreover, ok you have one of these key loaded. What amount? What happens if the owner will move just after one block?
Completely non-sense. If something similar was possible, btc value was adapted just to...  zero Wink

Ok, so you have this computational power for generating this keys but what it should be the "real life" use of these private keys?
I mean, these are not email or something that "change the password and now is your".
these keys are clearly known to another user, why someone would ever use this? and why such huge numbers?

The title is pretty self explanatory.

Some people do not have the computational power to generate and store millions of them efficiently.

It may be true that not everyone has the computing power to generate a large amount of private keys in a short period of time, but those who would require such a thing certainly do. But what do you mean by "store"? A Bitcoin private key is just a 256-bit number, that's 32 bytes only. You can store millions of private keys on any memory storage device, even on low-budget USB sticks or memory cards that cost no more than a few bucks.

Also, no need to resell the same ones over and over again, as I can generate 500 million of them in around half a day.

There is no way to verify that you won't sell the same keys to multiple people or keep them for yourself. Again, such keys are useless for any practical purpose.

Why would someone buy private keys when they can generate as many as they want? Besides, what is the use of your private keys for anyone if you have access to them, and if you sell them multiple times?
