raspberry pi is perfect. u could go with more expensive beaglebone black, or perhaps TP-Link TL-WR703N which is cheaper but you may have a harder time with it if u don't know your way around linux.

Whatever u buy you would need a powered USB hun. these tiny things dont provide the needed amps. For raspberry pi, the power is 5V (same as usb). so if you pick the right hub, you could power the pi as well as asicminer from the same hub, so one power adapter for the whole rig.

Now, if you can USB tether from your phone, you could (in theory) connect it to the pi (or other devices) and suck interwebs from your phone. if u cant usb tether, then ud need to buy a wifi dongle. Id say look to spend abt BTC0.5 - BTC1 on the project. The tp-link comes with wifi onboard, and i assume u could set it up to be a guest, so if u buy the tp-link then you dont need to buy wifi dongle.

Bonus. get a battery setup that gived you > 1.5 Amps @ 5V .. then u can mine on the go...

So I didn't get my USB ASIC Miner for profit; I got it for vanity. To that end, what microcomputer do you think I should get to show it off?

- I am relatively technical
- I have wifi tethering to my phone
- I have a 7 inch tablet
- Budget is a concern; I want to purchase a Raspberry Pi or something cheaper.
- Also curious how you dealt with heat in your vanity setup.

Feel free to link me in to yours and others' vanity projects.

Thank you!
