If it all goes well, I want to buy a new car by the end of the year but in The Netherlands it's so freaking expensive...and I am also forced to look into smaller cars (VW Polo, Golf, BMW 1-series, Seat Leon and such) because larger cars have ridicilous monthly roadtaxes in here...hate it.

Buy a used car car from Germany/Italy for example and drive it in Eastern Europe. This way you buy the car yourself, so you don't pay to dealers who import it, and taxes in Eastern European countries are very low.

UK is the cheapest country to own and buy a car.

It's a fact they have some of the lowest car prices. It's because their steering wheel is on the right side, and so there's not a huge market for these cars so the demand is small so prices are also small.
It really is so but another factor in the low price of cars from the UK It's not just the steering wheel that because of the Harsh climate very often and quickly corrosion is eaten by the body and other elements of the car's finish. Thus it turns out that cheap does not mean the best.

romania.  Grin Grin Grin what i saw in romania was terrible

the cheapest you will find it in romania
I know a family who immigrated from Romania, and another that did missions work in there. From what I have heard it’s very bad there. It’s not the worst place in the world to be, but it is a place that should probably be avoided.

You're willing to move in order to have a car...?!
Perhaps he is looking to go on a little trip to buy a car for a cheap price, then bring it back to his home country. Depending on the price variation he might be able to save a lot by buying in another country (I wouldn't know for sure though 'cause I don't live in Europe).

What about France??? Has anyone here check their cars? I believe they're have pretty good pricing for cars! Grin
The French love cars its production. I wouldn't buy a French car even for 1 Euro. I don't like them. My opinion is that the French have only good diesel engines Renault. Why do I need the engine? I need a car completely. I love German cars. The cheapest they are in Poland.

I don't know about Europe but I think it's Poland. I bought my car in LA and got insurance in this company https://www.mis-insurance.com/auto-insurance/ . I pay 19$ per month + it provides liability and medical coverage pays.

or if you need some more horsepower:

best thing is you do not need diesel you can just use domestic fuel oil in these and save some extra because taxes are way lower for it.

Not what you asked but the most expensive country most be The Netherlands. Damn, not only are the prices quite ridicilous, the monthly costs (taxes and insurance) costs are like 300 EUR without driving a single mile for let's say a BMW 3 or 5 serie.

Very cheap cars in Poland and the Baltic States. This is due to the fact that the poles are buying in all of Europe broken and stolen cars. Restore and sell them second hand. Be careful when buying a car there.

You can buy a car cheap from another country and have them ship it to the states.

You realize that you need homologation for that car? That means car must be checked if that model is fine to drive on the US roads...

That's doable if it's over 25 years old. If it's younger, then you may as well push it back into the sea.

If you go to a poverty place to avoid taxes with a luxury car you are going to get your car wreckd.
If you want to have a luxury car you need to live in a rich place.

No, I won't move and I won't live in the car  Wink Grin

I'm just gathering information on the subject.

Inside Schengen Area you can move almost without constraints so in theory it should be possible to buy and register (or rent or something else) in one country and use the car in another country.

Most countries will have rules about reregistering the car on their plates if you're resident there after a period of time. In the UK it's six months. After that if they know you've been driving around all that time on foreign plates, and they can be arsed, they'll take your car away and crush it.

The UK is ludicrously cheap for old cars compared to the rest of Europe. Shame about the wheel being on the wrong side though.

for this kind of shopping, germany is very cheap.

Germany is a must because it's a huge market.

You can find anything you want in there.

Maybe it's not the cheapest place but it's surprisingly cheap maybe because german are rich and buy new cars devaluating the used car market.

I'm not so sure about the car taxes being cheap there though.

Probably the best is buying in Germany and register in a low-tax country.

I take it this topic is here because everyone is tired of talking about Bitcoin?

Oh well, when in Rome. I would choose Bulgaria, very cheap!

This topic is here because this section of the forum is dedicated to everything not related with bitcoin.

Please post the major used cars websites.
