You can get a .com domain name for $1 with Godaddy, it's a permanent offer but I don't remember how to get it. (google "godaddy 1$ domain name"). They offer it only once per customer.

You're right you can still get $1 or less .com domain in GoDaddy but if you don't have a promo code or coupon you can get .com domain at normal rate.

Anyway, I have coupon that I use recently and I'm sure it will work in any country just make sure to remove all extra services and its only good for 1yr.

Here's the coupon code
Code:
gofhmy09

But the problem they don't accept bitcoin as payment if ever he wants to buy he needs to provide a debit/credit card or a VCC.

Just added this list of cards below if he doesn't have card to buy in Godaddy,

I always use NameCheap. But that's probably because they have a ton of domains for $0.88 each. Cheesy

Every year they have a Cyber Monday and Black Friday promotion where in each of these two days they have probably the best discounts I have ever seen in a e-commerce. They offer up to 99% (for real) in some products, like domains or domains + hosting plans for less than $2 (IIRC). I would take a look at them since these promotions are happening literally this week.

You can get a .com domain name for $1 with Godaddy, it's a permanent offer but I don't remember how to get it. (google "godaddy 1$ domain name"). They offer it only once per customer.

But generally speaking they have all, more or less, the same price, it's depend on the domain extension you select. On Namecheap, you can even get one for $~0.85. It's al matter on the options they offer with.
Also with a lot of web hosting providers, you can get a domain name for free if you pay for 1 full year. It decreases the cost.

As for looking for a free web host, don't know what's your goal with, if it's for development that's perhaps ok but other than that you will get nowhere with it. You will have a problem every 10 days and no help to resolve your issue.

Just to throw some names out there and if anyone out there is interested etc etc.. Check out ionos.com you could snag a domain for a $1 and for Free Hosting check out https://infinityfree.net/ No experience on Infinity Free but if it works well then that might be a go to choice as well.

Don't know which domain provider is cheapest, but there you can find some good domain and hosting deals on upcoming Black Friday:

And I agree with post above that free hosting isn't reliable. It has so many disadvantages that makes it not worth to use. And nowadays hosting isn't very expensive and it's affordable almost for everyone. But if you really want to use free host, you may look at 000Webhost.com. I used them in past and as free provider and it was ok.

Hello I'm looking for cheap domain providers and also free hosting if possible. Please list some viable options for me here. Thanks.

Personally I am using NameSilo. Dunno if it is the cheapest, but you get free who is  domain protection, with no future hidden fees for about 9 bucks. What I mean with hidden future fees, is for example what Godaddy does. You might get a free one year whois protection with a coupon for the same price but after a year you have to pay a ridicilous amount of money for the protection, last time they were asking me something like 20 $, for a total of 30 $ for a one year renewal.  Shocked Shocked

Namecheap has similar prices with namesilo but once they stole a domain from me citing a ridicilous reason and their customer support wouldn't reply to my mails. So, they get a big no no from me.

EDIT

As for free hosting, all free hosting providers suck. If you simply want to make a blog, you can use blogspot with custom domain. It's pretty good, perfect uptime (since it's essentially hosted by google) and no ads. But it's pretty limited (e.g. no plug ins) and google might one day delete your blog for whatever reason. Hasn't happened to me ever, but plenty of complains out there Wink
