Yes there is an online service, which offers a low rate.

Your bank account.

I started selling small amounts on localbitcoins a while back. I've got a halfway decent account now, but most people don't even contact me through localbtc anymore. They know I'll have BTC, so they just text. Doesn't get any more under the radar than that. Zero fees, for anyone.

Don't overlook localbtc, you'd be stupid to do so. There's money to be made just buying and reselling coins. Or, scrypt rigs -> btc  Wink

Yeah... any suggestions for cost effective scrypt rigs these days? Wondering if there's anything revolutionary.  I own a couple of 7850's and a single 7870 which is SLOWER than 7850  Roll Eyes

Ehhh, not really. Either alts going nuts or the new release of the r9 series has left the market in a serious mess. The 290 cards are a bear to setup, and 280x cards are basically 7970's. I personally don't think the 270 cards are worth touching.

But, if you are a glutton for punishment and can do some serious google-fu to overcome the 290 driver problems you can pull nearly 1mh/s from a 290x. I've got one running at 985kh/s, and it's three days stable now.

Depends on what your electricity company is charging you. If they want $.30 per kWh (like mine does), no chance you can be cost-effective. If you can get juice for almost nothing, find some olde 7950s, or the AMD R280 stuff, which is the old 7970 in a new coat. Undervolt them, and just go for it, on whatever currency you like (some have direct profits, others only the hope of rewards later).
As far as I know, NVidia is still slacking, and no ASIC miners are on the market, despite many trying to build them...

#bitcoin-otc on FreeNode IRC is also an option, people make many trades there daily. Be sure to follow gribble's getting started instructions and probably register your PGP key.

Localbitcoins is a waste, you'll be waiting forever.  The site that I like the best is Litetree which you can sell LTC and BTC on their exchange.  Once you sell, you can then send via Paypal (instant 3-4% fee) or to your bank account (a few days 0.1% fee).  I've used others, but most all of them will take a percentage.  It's up to 5% to get into BTC and 5% to get out of, at least from what I've experienced.

I have 20BTC that I'd like to convert to USD in the USA.  What's the cheapest, most under the radar, anti-big-brother way to get USD?  Do I sell locally?  Is there an online service, which offers a low rate?

You might sell using localbitcoins, if you use coinbase, you definitively need to give your identity
