For an illustration I will post here some information about one of well known Russian ICO projects - https://zrcoin.io/ which was the first commodity-backed blockchain option as claimed (not a commercial!).
I’m not to make any conclusions on this project. It seems that it’s generally ok and improving. But we revealed some interesting and sometimes controversial data only from open sources which will be partly revealed here as a modest example of our capabilities.
1. Patents mismatch.
Cofounder of project - Vitaliy Merzlyakov is claimed to be a holder of 9 different patents. https://imgur.com/a/YKJF4

2. Corporate history.
Cofounder of project - Vitaliy Merzlyakov in recent times participated as founder/cofounder in 7 different entities, 5 out of 7 were winded up and few of them were compulsory dissolved by legal enforcement.

3. Financial statements.
Vitaliy Merzlyakov currently has a 1/3 stake in Russian entity OOO «HПЦ «Цeoлит» (besides ICO SPV), registration number: 7455007210. Last few years it has stated negative financial results (loss).

4. SPV(E) structure/holding scheme
After ICO is over it’s obviously not an end of the tunnel for investors as one might think.
We analyzed activity of zrcoin project cofounders and find out their SPV structure – OOO «ЦИPКOH» (LLC “TSIRCON”), registration number 9701065073, date registered 20.02.2017.
Stakeholders: (1) LAGATA INVESTMENT LIMITED (foreign entity) – 49,01% (2) Vitaliy Merzlyakov – 25,5% (3) CEO - Vadim Sychev -12,75% (4) Yevgeny Panov – 12,75%.
Authorized capital only 78 440 rubles, which is equivalent to approx. 1 300 USD.
We are also able to conduct more detailed research.

5. Licenses
Dunno if specifically this project needs any licenses, but there’s none of them currently.

Russian ICO market has shown drastic growth lately. It’s well known for its commodity based projects, taking part in manufacturing, nature resources, agriculture, as well as virtual IT sphere. Not so long ago Vitalik Buterin stated to set up collaboration with Russian authorities aimed to develop the very first Russian government backed cryptocurrency.
