In regards to the sticker...

I’ve been thinking of making our own custom one for a long time now. If anyone has information on the process required I’m all ears. As a designer it irks me I still can’t design holograms!  Shocked

I've always wondered about how coin/note/etc makers go about getting their holograms made.  May I ask why you're unable to design your own holograms? just curious!

I've just never tried it or had enough information to know how its done. Its a new learning curve I need to overcome. I'm curious as well! Tongue

I don't see what the difference would be, in the unloaded and loaded besides the fact that the loaded carries a risk because more than 1 person would know the private key. Maybe a 2FA one would be neat. Or just load the unloaded ones yourself

2FA no no. Own the keys, own the coins.

Unloaded + buyer loads = new buyer of this note must trust the previous owner.

Loaded + buyer buys preloaded = second hand market must trust Polymerbit, not the previous owner.

Hello!

I've been thinking about this for a while now. I'd like to make a note that is loaded with small amounts of BTC (Like 10-20 USD) and sell them for BTC.

To reduce risk I was thinking of creating an insurance policy on the notes. Maybe put some coins in escrow with one of the trusted parties on here (MJ? Viz?)

Just a passing thought...

Yes, please make a new series of Polymerbit loaded notes!! With small amounts (10-20 Usd dollars) some mbtc i don't think its necessary to have any escrow, you aren't a new player on bitcoin notes. The only thing that i see is that you will need a new hologram for the funded notes, to avoid problems with second hand transactions.

Hello Raimon,

You are absolutely right! We will be looking at producing a completely custom hologram. Will need to do some research first.

I'd be interested and that's weird they no longer make/sell the entropy device.  Seems like it wouldn't be hard to make more of them and it serves a good purpose in address creation.

Found this: http://moonbase.tictail.com/
Seems to be current....

Ah, the more you know!!  Thanks for that MJ and I'll be looking into this, seems like something a RPi (https://sites.google.com/site/astudyofentropy/project-definition/raspberry-pi-internal-hardware-random-number-generator) could do easily and I have a few of those lying around.   Cheesy

How do you plan to generate the private keys?
If you like/need I can lend you a mycelium entropy.

Awesome!  Grin

I'm happy there is trust but I still think I'll speak with you MJ because things can always go wrong.

How long should we make this inusrance policy? 1 month? two?

And Lincoln! Awesome, yes please! I'd pay rent on it in notes Wink

Deal! Smiley

For all people who don't know what a mycelium entropy is:
https://mycelium.com/mycelium-entropy.html

It is a device for generating true random numbers in a reliable way using SRAM. This is very important for secure private keys. Unfortunatly you can't buy this product any more.

I wonder why they no longer sell this Sad

Imho back at the time 2013(?) this device didn't sell very well so after batch 1 they decided to stop production. In addition there some important people left the company.

are you planning on making a new note designs as well? or using the current notes and just loading them?

For such an occasion you'd atleast see some changes to the design.

Most likely I'll make a whole new series for it.
