Online servers like ICC or chess.com could and should accept Bitcoin payments (chesstempo too) (hmm maybe chess.com already does).

However betting on outcomes with BTC (or any other money) isn't advisable as it's basically impossible to know whether the other side is cheating; ICC uses analysis of moves in comparison to engines but obviously that is not reliable.

If you don't want to get cheated, don't do it.

Since my thread has only a few reads and only a few replys I guess we are safe from bots, as long as we know eachother!

This is what I wanted! To play with real people that would like to win some btc if they win the match!

I doubt someone will try to set up a bot to get 0.01 BTC after a game that can last up to a month or more!

We can make the game with 5 days per move so it can take even longer!

Why I want to play chess for BTC? Because since I've got involved in the BTC scene I lost 2 games on time-out at chess, because there is no BTC involved! Anything that has BTC in it captivates me!

Yes, it used to, several years ago. No more; although Magnus could certainly hold draws against a top engine like Houdini, it would be tremendously difficult for him to win, and much easier to lose. This is at classical time controls like 1hr 30 for 40 moves.
At blitz time controls he could maybe win 1 out of 100.

By the way Nakamura often spent time playing engines on ICC a few years back (time limits like 3mins+2sec per move). Occasionally, as in very occasionally, he would win. He used good anti-computer techniques to draw more often, but he mostly lost.
(If you don't know Hikaru Nakamura, he's one of the world top 5 or 6 last I checked).

Basically, chess gambling is best suited for grandmasters who can routinely beat any chess engine around (this constitutes a *very* small percentage of players).  Every other game is just going to be a "who has the best chess engine?" contest.

Unfortunately, no such grandmasters exist, not even Magnus Carlsen. This is true at long time limits, and much more so at short time limits.

That could be.  I was under the impression that a few GMs, like Magnus, can still routinely beat (as white) or draw (as black) against even the best engines (and I'm aware that engines today are much stronger than even Deep Blue).

It used to depend on playing style if a GM could beat engines like Deep Blue. Garry Kasparov was an endgame player and therefore had problems with Deep Blue even though weaker positional could routinely beat it. Was a few years since I checked though.

Chess bots easily beat grandmasters in 1 minute games. But if you play 1 minute game with a graphic interface it's hard to maneuveuring the chess app fast enough to use for cheating.

So are you telling me that boots can play on there?

I play there for almost a few months but don't know if I played against a bot, but sometimes my opponent never answered my chat questions

Pffff, even for 0.001BTC bet someone will make a chess bot?

Two main problems with online chess gambling:

1) Anyone who isn't playing a game under 1-2 minutes will be cheating.
2) Beginners who don't cheat won't gamble.

Do you have bots for other games as well or just chess?

If you like playing chess and you like BTC than this is the place for you!
I'm already playing chess at gameknot.com and I would like to play chess for BTC!

We will use escrow!

For example if we play for 0.01 BTC we both send 0.01 BTC to escrow and the winner gets 0.018 BTC or more if escrow fees are smaller! I don't know how much escrow fees for gambling are!

If you are interested let me know!
