Well, Chinese New Year has about 15 days duration so if you want to count last day of New Year, that would be 2nd of March  Grin

Yes - the whole "China will cause a bull run" is just FUD from last year. When the chinese exchanges shut but bitcoin soared anyway, it proved that the Chinese were minor players in this space. Bitcoin's success really depends on whether the Americans adopt it.

Where is my ring of blades...
i am chinese ,let me tell you ,it has nothing to do with chinese new year ,and it is not over yet ,i just begin ,it will last at least 15days .

the new year (the day) is tomorrow. you are right about that.
but this is not about "the day", it is about the speculation saying that people in Asian countries celebrating this new year have been selling bitcoin to pay for their holiday expenses and that created a sell pressure. and the planning and selling occurs before the "day" not during or after it. that is why he said it is over. that and the fact that price has been rising!

Yes is true, bitcoins is coming back to form. As you can see today percentage change, bitcoins have moved up for about 10 percent and you can testify that something good is going to happen.

Bitcoin has been doing constant 10% up and downs since almost two days ago and it up almost 50% from the bottom at 6k.
Nothing to do with Chinese New Year.
Even the thought that an event from China where Bitcoin is banned 20 times a day would influence the price in a positive way is hilarious.

The main reasons might be:
a) Fud is over, especially SK banning BTC
b) transactions are a lot faster and you can send now tx with 5sat/b
c) development in the LN

your reasons are valid but also it is just speculation like it has always been.
people speculated there will be a drop becuase of Chinese new year and there was a drop because of it. then they speculated this drop will end and the money will come back to bitcoin after the New year thing and it did start to happen.

Certain speculation that might could bring a good hype but there's nothing good on relying on the Chinese festivities to make a basis of bull running of the price since There are certain scenario's that needed to be consider with upon judging that, and I think chinese will not spend their money on this Chinese new years eve of them since I think they will keep their fiat on their pocket due to their own superstitious beliefs on this chinese new year thing.

I think all of you are right the price will rise now I kept of feeling that there is a chance for price correction but it never happened and won't happen also. Regarding your question yes the price is going to rise now I call 13000$ in may or even higher if this trend continues in a positive way

Gobs of Asian money about to pour back in. Fasten your seat belts!

It's not over yet... It's just getting started.

Chinese new year is actually tomorrow but people are already buying like crazy today.

This is a really good sign, since it means that a lot of the bulls are buying back in with the hopes that bitcoin could go up over $10k again, and re-establish its position above the $10k mark. And it's not hard to see that happening tomorrow at all.

I actually think that we'll get a nice correction before the bull run actually initiates. But it could just go straight up too.

With you on the correction first.

Just had a check at most of the Chineze zodiac horoscopes and actually yeah, it's basically telling most signs to either have an average year or expand on new businesses. I know how a lot of Chinese people think in business and that's going to be a very auspicious sign for them. Although, if they'd contrasted it with last year's horoscope which by no stretch predicted the December bull run, they might give it some thought.

Lunar New Year's at least 4 hours away anyway, depending where in China you're at. I see prices pumping now, almost at 10k. Let's see if the Asian money that pours in can keep in.

Um, we haven't even hit Chinese New Year.

I think that the most likely scenario right now is that we're seeing western money pouring back into bitcoin, in anticipation of price going up. The Asians are probably going to stay put, until after the CNY celebrations which is next week.

So I'd be watching the prices long and hard next week for sure. This isn't even the main pump.

If Chinese, Korean, and Japanese money does flow back into bitcoin at last, $10k should tumble pretty quickly and we could see that this is one of the last times we'll see 4 digit BTC prices within a month or two.

Maybe that is why we have started to see another uptrend since yesterday. I will really pray we should have a very serious recovery as many of us that think  $10,250 is the bottom bought at that level and I seriously hope we get over that value and move on to December high of $19,009+. China has a great impact on bitcoin pricing and we should not underrate what might happen if fund started to flow back to the cryptocurrencies market.

Knowing the Chinese ...))) They have a Chinese New Year will last until early March! Therefore, it is too early to fasten the belts!)) But still now we have to prepare for a high and fast flight! By the summer probably bitcoin will cost under 100.000 $ !!! I hope to see new records of the price of all coins. So now is the best time for investment. Buy, there will not be such a sale anymore.))

Why would the passing of the Chinese New Year have an effect on bitcoin? People always claim that people were pulling money out of the crypto market towards the Chinese New Year because they bought presents with it, but I'm fairly sure that the price drop had nothing to do with that, but rather with the FUD.

Seeing the price goes up now, I think it's a good sign for a bull run. I hope this won't go to another dip again. All of the asians just finished spending money, now it's time to invest back on bitcoin.
