Why are people dumping Bitcoin for winter? Plus it isn't winter everywhere. How can you assure people it is good to buy right now?

BTC / Crypto is doomed. The dollar is growing strongers and economies are booming. It's just not the right time to invest in crypto 
Many people solding its bitcoin in way to buy gift for its parents, children and friends ! So, be patient and see that after the Christmas price will raise without any problems

Paypal is not safe to use for either the consumer nor the merchant. PP has arbitrary rules that make it generally uncertain if you will be able to charge-back a transaction making both parties take an unknown risk when dealing with eachother, bitcoin solves this problem by making both parties have a very certain risk so both parties know what kinds of precautions to take in order to mitigate these risks. I don't see what Christmas has to do with anything. There is no reason that xmas should or would affect the price of bitcoin.
The price of bitcoin has been trading in a similar trading range for several months now and it is not surprising that the price has fallen to ~300 and then rebounded

slowly prices rise before Christmas, i guess christmas, nothing effect with bitcoin price up and down.
Some big whales dumping huge amount of coins to get fiat to buy his/her most expensive Christmas gift? Seriously I can't think of any good reason, but what I say here doesn't mean it makes no sense. I mean it's possible, right?

Exactly. Actually many people are selling their bitcoin in way to sustain chrimstas expens for friends, family ecc. But, I don't like so much this way to do things. Be sure that price will raise the next year probably
IT has been consistently going down all year, I think the bubble that spiked last year caused much of this. I don't think that value was supposed to sky rocket like that right away, it should go up gradually but it will just take some time
Usually around the holidays I stop trading stocks as well. People tend to sell off assets to pay off credit cards and to buy gifts so you can see a drop off even though nothing fundamentally has changed.
It still stays a good price i find. The market is always a little bit calmer at the end of the year. That's so with everything. Maybe that can be a reason.
December 2013 is not going to repeat itself, but I have good hopes for mid 2015.
Everyone has been selling btc for weeks, cheap gifts on black friday, need to buy christmas gifts soon, higher fuel bills due to colder weather, end of tax year soon, those make btc price keeps going down, I think 2015 will be a fresh start for bitcoin...

Well often the markets die down at christmas because almost everyone is away from their computers, I wouldn't really run around in a panic until after the first quarter of next year and yes, I'm being that specific.
I doubt this is just christmas spending occurring. Anyone have thoughts of what truly is causing the downslide? I think it has to do with lack of substantial news for bitcoin and with ApplePay taking over the "new and exciting payment" news, bitcoin is now a burner story to a lot of news people.
Buying people presents for Christmas isn't the driver of declining prices.
The driver is that there are more sellers than buyers.
To everyone's Christmas point though, if more retailers accepted BTC and those retailers didn't want to sell their BTC as soon as payment was received you'd see a more stable price.

Just a normal trend. People need money to buy gifts for their loved ones this Christmas, so they sell their precious bitcoins to fiat just to buy those.

I think users are starting to spend the bitcoin they hold because there isn't much news recently which could bring prices up in the near future. This is good for bitcoin as a currency.
