If you are doing crypto transactions from extensions, Google Chrome is not the thing you should look for. Any extension can be compromised which can affect your crypto transactions. Instead, I would suggest going with hardware wallets like Ledger only.

I don't take loans, ask for sig if I ever do.
It's google man, give up trying to actually look for legit extensions unless someone has actually tested it and has proof of it being legit (should be one of your close friends, most of my extensions came from their recommendations though I stopped using chrome recently). It's the sad thing with google, they don't really manage their extensions properly before releasing it to their store. Just don't bother installing anything if you're using Google, or just go Mozilla all the way. I used to use uBlock Origin and Universal Bypass, former can be found in webstore (CAREFUL, There's a dupe that's titled uBlock - free ad blocker, when the legit one is just uBlock Origin) latter was obtained from here: https://universal-bypass.org/

Stop using chrome web store to find extensions

I hope newbies will aid my warning, browser extensions can't be trusted and too many fake ads extensions too, here are few lists of bad extensions I can get my hand on today

1. Ad-block for YouTube
2. Adblocker for YouTube
3. A-blocker
4. UBlocker
5. AdBlock — Stop Ad on every Site
6. Adblocker-X
7. AdBurner
8. AdBear
9. StopAds
10. Adkill

...

After reading that list, i see all those addons are trying to camouflage with the extension 'Adblock plus', i have been using
this one in the past years to avoid the ads and the spam, i mean, we are on internet, we are not watching TV, is our decision if see ads or not.

I always choose not to use any extension on any of my browsers, specially in chrome since they fetch a lot of data from their users.
My computer's RAM is being sucked up too so I don't intend to add more extension.

Chrome we extensions are really aren't safe at all because it could only be a malware to hack all of your accounts that is connected in your google account that is signed in on your Google Chrome browser. It is why I only use Opera browser because nothing can beat it's user interface, speed and privacy.

I thought this kind of problem was fixed since someone actually takes advantage to create hidden mining apps to hide on certain google extensions. I really thought everything was fine until now. anyway, the real ad blocker extension was not on the list, only these fakes ad blockers are there. In their play store as well, there are so many fake apps uploaded there.

tldr;

1. Use Mozilla FireFox instead
2. uBlock Origin: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
3. HTTPS Everywhere: https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere
4. Don't be stupid

and you're pretty much good to go.

And maybe add NoScript to stop any tracker, malicious 3rd party javascript, ads, etc..
It is probably one of the best (if not the best) extension available.

Further, HTTPS Everywhere needs one option (Encrypt all Sites eligible) to be activated to block any HTTP request.

There are many add-ons, but there is no need to use them because of course some of them may be unreliable and browser data may be stolen and it is best to avoid downloading them or relying on other safe browsers such as Firefox

I think so and so many times scam extension has already uploaded by the scammers. There was no reason to instal anything from the chrome web extension. There was also a lot of awareness thread about this in this forum.

I don't know why computers are too risky for browsing and daily use, even good antivirus can't detect some spyware apps on your PC, I prefer using Linux or Mac OS for browsing than windows for security purposes, or just use my smartphone instead

Indeed. The reviews for add-ons worth nothing, you have to do more research.
At least for ad blockers and privacy, I recommend you start with reading https://www.privacytools.io/browsers/#addons

Not just chrome, I don't trust Firefox browser either, to me no add-ons is safe, a friend lost 300$ through metamask extension on Firefox browser, I'm advising against any extension from any browsers, it's a huge risks to your money and privacy

Chrome is the worst browser regarding privacy because this browser is spyware and has all users data. Also, you'll find many phishing sites pop-up in the first result... not only about fake extension.

If you don't like or don't have Tor browser, at least you can use Mozilla Firefox.

Even google it self has all your data, through smartphone and their apps they have complete data about where we are going, what are our activities and what we are doing even sometimes they know what we are talking about. I have confirmed this by asking for something in real life and then when i surfed the internet through chrome they showed me similar products to what i was looking for. That is why experts say that google should be avoided for business and other sensitive data atleast.
Although it is great utility because it syncs everything across devices but still it can trouble you because your privacy is not protected.
Similarly, many extensions and apps are their to steal your data and misuse that so be careful and try to avoid such apps. Better to use small number of apps those too with good reputation globally.

these extension scams racked up millions of total users since they are start appearing in chrome extension store. And none of the extensions in this lists are legit, chrome web store is like a wild west where anyone can upload it's extension, including Trojans, malwares, spywares and other hijacking tools, this is why I don't use metamask crypto wallet either, within this chrome extension haven anything is bound to happen. You think you aren't been watched or sniffed on? Think again
