It's encouraging to see a religious ideology evolve to changing values... It's the ideologies that forbid change that need to eradicated from the planet.

They're being forced to evolve, they're not changing their values at all, they're just realising the world is turning against them.

I think that this is very good decision by Church of England.
I think that there are many aspects in everyday life where women pastor can understand and help more than male pastor like family life, children problem, supporting young single mothers etc.
I hope other churches will follow this as well.

Sooo, they took a vote to determine truth? Now it also must pass Parliament, so politicians can vote on the truth. LOL!! A sad day. If the church's great founder, King Henry VIII, would have wanted the Church of England to have female bishops, he would have married (then executed) one.

The Vatican is worth 16 billion by itself ... etc. So it is essential for these top "brass" to make sure we follow otherwise the church will crumble. The same goes with Muslims and Jews. In one Hindu Temple, they recently found 22 Billion dollars worth of gold.
All the antiquated rituals need to be removed as they have no place - especially the ones talking about converting others, or the items that be little others.
Once the rituals and rites have been removed - you will be left with faith and that is what matters the most.

It is not surprising that churches will open their doors and change policy to keep the fantasy alive. Like any business that depends more on cash flow than anything else, you need to get the marketing straight and this move is obviously aimed and broadening (no pun intended) the demographic, in order to get more "bodies in the shop." Time is going by and more people are coming to realize that the real world is a better place to be.

Men and Women are equal - but different. The two make a whole.
My feelings on this align to yours. The religions of the world need to have a review what is written in the scriptures. When these "documents" were created by MAN and not God, they were set-up to discriminate, exclude, and ultimately to push the message we are better than all of the other religions. Each one of them is like that. Before the democratic reforms that swept Europe, the Church was a big influence in law and power. Today, religion is a big business - 170 Billion in the US alone.

Only 800,000 out of a population of 53 million regularly attend church - and a half of those are just there to hedge their bets  Grin

In short, not too many people give a flying fuck one way or the other.

I would be glad to see dogma disappear, but would not enjoy the disappearance of faith. Faith is a wonderful tool, and something that each person should have a bit of at least.
