The most interesting thing is the involvement of Barclays. That's rather a large deal.

Does anyone know what fees Circle has? Is it cheaper to use it or PayPal for doing micro transactions? I still haven't used it but if the fees are lower than PayPal or Skrill I will hop right on board.

I found a website article comparing circle with coinbase, but i think it should be cheaper using than paypal but check at your own. Expanding to europe will bring circle more customers.

The partnership between Barklays bank and Circle is good news for Bitcoin. I know a while ago, it seemed as though Circle has turned it's back towards Bitcoin... but with this news, I should think that

they reconsidered that approach and will be a good competition for Coinbase in Europe and Africa. This strategic move will surely put Circle back in the Bitcoin market and they will grow much faster

within this partnership. They are also offering some unique features not being offered by their competitors and they will be the first to market with this move.  Wink ... I like the fact that Barclays decided

not to work against Bitcoin, but rather to embrace it. These other banks with their private Blockchains are riding dead horses...  Grin Grin Grin

I haven't used Circle myself as it was geared only towards Americans when it launched. I checked out their website today and Circle is touted as a social app used for settling debts between friends and family and for paying for goods in shops. Apparently there are no fees to move the funds between users but I suppose they will charge a fee when you attempt to withdraw funds into local money from the app. I am not sure if chargebacks and disputes can be abused like on the PayPal platform though. It looks like an app for gifting Bitcoin to acquaintances and not for serious trading where PayPal is preferred by merchants.

It's always good to have good mulitple choices available and competiton rises the level of service to the users. I haven't had experience with Circle so far but would like to try it when it becomes available.

I haven't used Circle much aside from the first week that it launched, I think I just used the $10 promotion.

But it's good news that they're expanding over to Europe, I'd also like to know what advantages it has over paypal..

Lots of press coverage and Bitcoin mentioning relating to Circle expanding to EEA markets, allowing easy and free EU-US transfers (including bitcoin I presume). Sounds like a big news.

On one hand Circle is trying hard to cut themselves off from the 'Bitcoin startup' image, on the other - they still support bitcoin payments and use BTC as a transfer vehicle for transactions between some countries.

Quote
“When people use the Circle product… you don’t see Bitcoins. It’s sort of underneath. The blockchain is a technology that allows us to not just build another closed payments system but actually build something that’s interoperable with the rest of the world,” he adds.

I'm considering registering and giving their app a try, anyone can provide feedback on how this works? How does Circle compare to PayPal, are transactions reversible, easy to abuse?

You can add Financial Times and New York Times, Fortune to your list of media who are reporting about it.

This is really great as they all are also mentioning Bitcoin in a positive light this way.
Good day for us I'd say. Smiley
