Guys, I guess you have heard that Apple will integrate Circlepay in the iMessage in iOS 10. Im wondering where is the advantage to use Circlepay (they use Bitcoin) instead of e.g. paypal.

Thanks!

The advantage is that you can use both - bitcoin and fiat. Have you ever used Circle? It's probably the easiest app to convert bitcoin to fiat that exists, seriously it's instantaneous. I'm talking about getting paid out but transferring currency within the app.

Why do you guys call it "Circlepay"? The company and the app is just called Circle.

Any link to this story?

This sounds pretty good but I am sure this is a America only project and us Canucks will have to wait. Its still a nice aspect to have that I would not have been able to do otherwise. Maybe I have not shopped around enough lately but I am pretty sure I do not have something equal to this available in my Country.

dosn't apple store ban all crypto coin related apps? but this news is true, maybe they open to bitcoin again. Good news

There are crypto Apps in the AppStore if you can search there, as long as the developers follow the apple guidelines they can't ban crypto apps.
But seeing that Apple has recently left open for developers to integrate their apps on their iMessage is great and hope by this bitcoin will be more popular.

I just heard about this too. Which brings me to a question. How is Circle as a service for payments? Have some of you actually used it or is using it right now for your daily stuff like paying for coffee in a cafe? I believe this will be a very big thing especially for us Bitcointards. I also see this as Apple bringing Bitcoin payments to the world which make me think that they could be on to something here. Because why not use Apple Pay and use Circle instead? I believe Apple always finds solutions in their walled garden, unless I missed something.

Maybe they are in the process of buying Circle?

Would it not easier just to integrate paypal in the iMessage?
No. Paypal comes with higher fees, certain restrictions and occasionally causes you a ton of headaches when it locks you out of "your own money".

For instance: Sending from Germany to my friend in the US 30 EUR. PayPal would just to exchange the EUR into Dollars. Circlepay would first exchange EUR into Bitcoins, do the transaction and then exchange Bitcoins into Dollar. What do I see wrong?
I don't see why they would use Bitcoin in between if the users are sending EUR -> USD or USD -> EUR. Have they actually stated something like this somewhere?

dosn't apple store ban all crypto coin related apps?
No, they don't.

That's great...for those who use IOS, which I do not.  But I fully support this if it gets bitcoin closer to mainstream acceptance.  Still can't understand why people use bitcoin for buying things, because I see it as more of an investment.  Don't know why people use Apple products either, but that is just my own worthless opinion.

Snapchat tried to something like this with something called snapcash if I remember correctly, and basically it was something like $1k to open the account with a bunch of fees associated with it. While it will more than likely be lower when it comes to fees for circlepay, I still think this is something that Apple shouldn't be trying to do because it just makes their hands more involved with people's finances than they need to be.

If they can do this right good for them but I don't care to be honest.

I'm not sure if the iOS 10 has been released yet but since we haven't seen how the Circlepay works for real we can just speculate how it will work. Integrating paypal will be harder because of their restriction that have, limitation etc. Exchanging twice a currency is a bit exaggerated because exchanging once is more than enough.
