You are about as free as North Korea. Your owners let you roam free at your fields, give you medicare, opportunities and jobs but your final destination is the slaughter house.

Not true. We roam with guns. Take that North Korea! USA:1 NKOREA:0.

But the only reason you roam with guns is because it is profitable for your owners to allow you to roam with guns.

No seriously. I'm being silly because your comment was stupid. I understand the idea of economic serfdom but there is a difference between the USA and North Korea that even the dumbest among us would acknowledge.

Why don't you read the Citizens United case- you might find it interesting, and potentially contribute with something of value to this thread.

To be blunt I would prefer the USA to be like NK. No spying or assassinating people abroad, no invading foreign countries, no false flag operations, no eugenics programs, no manipulating politics, no "mah democracy", as a foreigner it would benefit me more than the way you're currently are, and who cares about what is happening INSIDE your country anyways?

With the Citizens United case essentially making the argument, (and winning) that money constitutes free speech in a way- perhaps a legal challenge to governments limiting Bitcoin usage could be through a free speech argument?

I do enjoy your posts crazy_rabbit, but don't we already have the right to use Bitcoin?  For example, I buy things with bitcoin in Canada and the USA on a regular basis.  Who are you proposing to sue, and what for, exactly?

Well, I was kinda thinking last resort type situation and all. Hypothetically. But yes, when you put it that way- I guess I'll wait. :-)

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
Who's the "we" in that question? Bitcoin has no central authority. You can go ahead and sue if you want but it might get a little expensive.

That's too far-fetched. The freedom to choose a currency is no free speech.

Why not? Did you read the Citizens United case? Money is a statement, which money you choose is a particularly strong statement. It is indeed your freedom of speech. I don't see why some clever lawyers couldn't make a convincing case on that.

Unfortunately the degree to which this freedom is allowed in practice is strictly controlled.  Cry
