How does one use Brave browser to earn BAT? I've been using the browser for months now and I was told to verify before claiming rewards I don't know how to go about this anyone ?

I have never been asked to do verification.

They rewards are paid monthly afaik and processed directly to your wallet, there is no need to do anything else.

You shouldn't have to do anything to earn these rewards either - if you want to increase your rewards the max you can do really is to increase the time you spend using Brave. I have it as a secondary browser and I earn around $0.5-1 per month, not too shabby for doing next to nothing.

are you using their new wallet? because if it is uphold or gemini, they require KYC, that is, if you will link your brave to these wallets.

i haven't tried the new one but if you will just connect via metamask, for sure, there's no need of KYC here.

the good thing about earning BAT, is that if you will just use brave as your main browser, just forget that you are earning while using it. it is free so why not? but of course, don't expect high earnings. because it depends on the ads that you will received per month. just accumulate and after some time, you have free money.

I haven't gotten verified because they never asked me to...? So I just assumed that I can keep doing it without having to do KYC.

I don't use Metamask, I just use the proprietary wallet that they've given me on signup.

In fact, I've got like 2 separate Brave wallets across 2 devices without any issue/verification. I do agree, it is overlooked, people should use it not only for the rewards though but Brave Browser also protects your privacy in the process.

If you don't mind to do KYC, you can use Brave and claim BAT then withdraw it. Please read details in What is KYC from Brave's support document

I am against KYC as much as I can avoid so to be honest, I use Brave browser too but I don't mind to claim BAT or complete KYC to withdraw BAT. Brave is not my most favorite browser too. Chrome, Brave, Tor browsers are what I am using but when I need privacy, I use Tor browser, not Brave.

You get BAT as brave rewards when you watch some advertisements while browsing. You probably need to verify to claim the rewards because they are sent to an exchange wallet (I guess) that requires users to go through KYC. Don't expect making a lot of BAT using the browser. You will be earning so little that I don't think it is worth going through the KYC process just to collect some peanuts. But as far as I know after the new update, brave browser now has their own BAT wallet where you can directly collect your rewards. Not sure if you need to pass KYC for that.
I quoted above from Brave. You are free to enable and use Brave Rewards and are not required to do KYC. Unfortunately, in case you want to do withdrawal, KYC card will be used. It sucks in my opinion. I don't dislike Brave because of this rule because I don't mind much about BAT reward but this rule is not good in my opinion. It is like a trap from Brave browser on their users.

Airdrops is way better than earning BAT through this browser it's a waste of time and not worth it, also you will need to pass KYC wether you like it or not, this is why I don't like BAT and XRP but anyways it's not a must, I wish faucets still works, at one point in 2017 faucets are even better than airdrops

I have been using Brave Browser for years and never had the thought to collect that BAT token even when they offered a big amount before thru sign up, iirc. The KYC thing is the real problem here and I don't agree with it. I just like the fact that they can block advertisements especially the pop up ones that had been hurting my butt for a long time. It just irritates me to see those ads and some of them are adult contents that I don't like to see by my child in surprise.
Still up to you, just be sure to take a tour to the settings.

If KYC verification isn't your thing you will be disappointed later because you can't withdrawal unless you pass KYC this is why I don't care about the BAT reward I like the browser more than chrome but verification of the wallet are in two places, one is deposition of 15-20$ worth of BAT and also KYC verification

That's quite easy! The instructions are there in front of you whenever you open the Brave browser and not confusing at all. So not sure why you aren't able to do it.

Please watch this video as it shows the exact step to follow to start earning BAT token,

Hope this helps!

As far as I know,
you have to create a uphold account and after KYC verification.  you need to connect your uphold wallet with basic browser account.
Now your earned tokens will be automatically transferred to your uphold wallet on monthly basis and you can convert it to your local currency and withdraw it.

The instructions are there and you have to make sure that you have turned off the "Auto-Contribute" because if it's ON, you're going to automatically contribute the amount of your rewards there. I've been using brave browser and thought that I'd be collecting a lot of BAT there but it seems that it's turned ON and I've been contributing to content creators automatically by having that unnoticing.

If you will use Uphold or Gemini wallet, you will need to verify your account to use their services. This is in order to withdraw your BAT. However, they already have their new Brave wallet, which I haven't tried yet. But I have gemini account where my brave is linked. The good thing about gemini is there is no withdrawal fee, like if you will transfer your BAT to binance to trade, they won't charge you anything but there is minimum withdrawal which is equivalent to $10 worth of BAT. While the Uphold, I'm reading that they are charging ridiculous fees.

And yes, you can turn off the Auto-contribute. Sometime they will get more than what you will receive. Smiley
I actually haven't took any of my share or collected reward there. Yes, they've got now a brave wallet and whichever is going to be more useful and easy to you, do it.
I hate that auto-contribute, it's too late for me to find it out that it's going to take off my collected BATs. I wasn't reading things about the browser until I was curious enough why there's no more reward to me left.

Exactly, full KYC required when you want to withdraw your BAT and the only good option to choose is Gemini. But keep in mind that the earnings you will get are really really low, so I don't think it is interesting to just use the Brave browser in order to get some free BAT.
