To participate in the EOS Token distribution, you will need an Ethereum compatible wallet or an application where you and only you hold the private keys. Private keys are needed to correctly interact with smart contract functions, like transferring cryptographic tokens. Do not send ether (“ETH”) directly from cryptocurrency exchanges, only an ETH compatible wallet.

A lot of token distributions only allow a small amount of people to participate. The EOS Token distribution structure was created to provide a sufficient period of time for people to participate if they so choose, as well as give people the opportunity to see the development of the EOS.IO Software prior to making a decision to purchase EOS Tokens.

How many EOS does one get for 1 ETH?

It depends ....

Each period is different.

Period 1 - 306.8 per ETH ( 5 days period)

The rest is 1 day period each

Period 2 - 160.08 per ETH
Period 3 - 138.20 per ETH (so far, not done today yet.   seems it's going to go down even more)

I only know of the Telegram channel https://t.me/EOSproject

I don't know how safe is metamask, but in the back of my mind there is always the thought that a small chance always exists(lets say 1-2%) that something will go awfully wrong and I will loose everything in this or in any other wallet.

3) Go on https://www.eos.io/distribution/ and redeem the EOS. Will the EOS be in my Metamask wallet?
4) I can now send my EOS on exchanges and sell them? If I do sell the EOS before the last ICO (2018) I am good (dont need public key)? What is confusing me is the public key thing.

3) After claiming my EOS using MetaMask, I had to click the "Tokens" tab and click the "+" sign and add the EOS token info in order for my EOS to appear in my wallet.

Token Address: 0x86fa049857e0209aa7d9e616f7eb3b3b78ecfdb0
Decimals: 18
Symbol: EOS
Name: EOS
You can find the above info by scrolling down here... https://eos.io/instructions

4) Yes and Yes.  With the Public Key registration(as I understand it) you are reserving a wallet/address in the EOS blockchain. When the time comes, your Ethereum wallet will be your ticket to your "reserved seat"/wallet/address. Write down/backup your EOS registered public and private key as well as your ethereum wallet and password.

Thank you for this info! Is there any official forum for this coin? So hard to find information about it.
Also is the Metamask safe? I know hardwallets are the best but no hardwallet currently support's EOS.

Are these steps correct?
1) Send ETH to the adress that was given to me using Metamask.
2) Wait for ICO period to end.

HI!

Here is a video, which I followed, probabliy it solves some of your answears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2QlFWUVxcA

Actually I am stuck at the point where I should send ETH "Sending ETH..." through the EOS Token Distribution App. Metamask doesn't pop up.
Should it pop up immediately?

Cheers,
