this is a SYSTEM ram issue as alluded to before

with 2g system ram you may mine for 24h or so but after things "settle" and programs are installed to run in memory, your mining software will eventually be unable to start and crash out with an ocl error.

upgrade to 4 gigabytes of system memory or switch to linux.

My AR-15 ID's itself as a toaster. Want breakfast?
windows7 >4Gb ram.
windows 10 >6Gb ram.
linux: depends on build and features.

the memory is kinda a big deal.

That board/processor should be fine for a miner.  plenty fast enough to validate shares and run the miner apps.... I used one out of a semi name brand pc that I was scrapping.   Its now a game pc for my friend... lol.

you will need to let windows use virtual memory as well, be sure its enabled, and for a large value ~16Gb to be on the safe side.

It sounds like a driver issue, but... there's a chance the old power supply is going bad and is out of tolerance.  they can wreak havoc on trying to diagnose an issue.

Phillip is good with them, he should be able to get you steered in the right way.  I haven't seen this problem pop up before.

I believe you need 4 GB of RAM for mining to be stable in general. For Claymore you need to set your Windows Paging File to the same amount as the VRAM on your GPU (or higher), so 4GB or more Paging File (virtual memory).

What is your Power Supply? What drivers are you using?

Sup COOLERMASTER G550M 550W

drivers Crimson ReLive Edition 17.4.4

I wanted to find out in my own skin how mining lands exactly so I also did not want to invest a lot of money, I have one card bought on Monday. Not overclocked, not modulated, just last 2 days work fine to time when i turn off it and try run again

mobo asus m2n68-am se2
CPU AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+
RAM ddr2 2gb
Used parts that I already had at home, can this be the reason? If so I will invest a little more or I will transfer the card to my PC

Maybe i do stupid stuff i do not know if to change hardware what is motherboard pretty cheap on 1151?

We need to know the complete hardware and software configuration you have, right down to the last detail in order to help. There are a plethora of things that may be affecting your GPU, so without knowing what you actually have for your system it's hard to be very effective in giving advice. Wink

I bought a card Msi armor rx570 4gb oc at the beginning of the week. My problem is that when I use Claymore just after installing windows 7.10 (tried on both, both are experiencing this problem) it works, while loading shows that my card has 4gb blah blah blah. Everything is beautiful. Until I turn off the program or lose power. At startup Claymore starts to load but shows that my card has only 3gb. Then followed by a frozen message "the program stopped working" reinstallation of drivers nothing gives. Downloading Claymore also does nothing, the only thing that helps is to restore the system to a state immediately after installation, or just restart the system. This is very annoying because when I want to change the quit currency or change some options. Every time I shut down the program I am forced to restore the system.

lets go slow

how many card on the rig?

is the rig mixed with rx 470 to rx 480?

did you try mining zec with claymore's zec program.

is it a new card ?

did you flash the card?

I have seen people say some 4gb cards show as 3gb and won't mine eth

If you have 2 of these cards does one work and not the other?

did you flash the card?

btw I only use 8gb or larger to avoid this issue.
