Both Cliff High and McAfee have made bold claims about Bitcoin's future.  McAfee recently claimed that Bitcoin would reach a million by 2020.  Do you take these predictions seriously?
Anyone can make their own prediction but we can't say either if their predictions are right or wrong so we can't take it seriously. Mcafee said that Bitcoin will reach a million dollar by 2020 this means he believe that it will happen this next 2 years, I also believe that Bitcoin can reach this level but I doubt that it will happen this next few years because the market will cannot always consistent bullish and whenever we see a huge price increase there is always an expected fall back. When Mcafee started this coin of the day/week/month I just started to hate him because it makes no difference with a pump and dump scheme.

They're just predictions so you can't really put any weight behind them. This is true for all predictions.

As for these in particular I don't really give McAfee too much credit for his $1m claim. He doesn't seem to support it with anything. If someone of his renown came out and explained why BTC would or even could reach $1m then I think people would listen more compared to "it's going to 1m or I'll eat my dick on TV"

I agree. Though many people still look up to this guy and he actually has pretty good credentials for me with ico reviews, i don't think people took that dick eating seriously and 1m is too much to hope for to seriously be achieved in 3 years. Probably he's thinking that btc will be pumped hard with that prediction of his with so much trust he puts in it.

McAfee is a nutjob, he'll say anthing to get followers. Then he shills them some obscure altcoin that he's carefully loaded up on.

I don't think it's actually possible for bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000. There are 21,000,000 coins - that would make the market cap $21,000,000,000,000. Does that seem likely to you?

I don't believe both of them Smiley. I'm still waiting to see McAfee eats his own dick till the end of 2020 Smiley). There are a lot of predictions about good coins and ICO projects from these guys but I think they are paid to promote these coins and projects so I don't believe them although there are a lot of people still believe in these predictions that why after John McAfee tweeted about coin of the week, these coins often pump very quickly Smiley) But it ofen don't last so long Smiley

Of course not. Those guys just like to put on a show, and they are quite good at it. Crypto is a very speculative market, and most people don't use their head when they invest, so they want to be reassured by people with a high profile like McAfee, and they just bet blindly on their projections. Since a lot of people do that, it actually works in some times.

With this I'm not saying I don't believe in bitcoin, because I do. It could perfectly reach those values, but there is no reason to say that. Bitcoin needs to evolve, and even with good development it still needs good adoption, and for that people need to accept it and understand it. I think this will be the hardest part to be honest.

I don't, as they have no solid evidence that bitcoin would be worth their claims in their given target date. Both are just hyping up people in order for them to buy in to these people's craziness. It would be good though if they backed it up with decent explanations that could lead bitcoin to millions and not just "I think" and other guesses. Also, no predictions are really accurate and I'd rather trade on my own decisions rather than use the decisions of other people.

I'd hate to see other people lose their dicks on live TV but some people just deserve that kind of consequence for their words.

Nope, you can't take either one of these shills seriously. McAffe has been doing his bullshit coin of the week, or day, or month or whatever he's doing now as a pump and dump thing for himself and his supporters. Getting involved with him is just a waste of your money, your time, and your dignity as you're going to end up losing out to this shitty dude.

Fuck the people that make crypto look bad and are just here to scam people. They should be punished for their crimes.

John McAfee has been a "signal" for other traders on what coin will be pumped, and I do hope that exchanges would do something about this pump and dump scheme that he is low-key doing since that is against most trading ethics, and that is considered fraud in the law.

Nah. I wouldn't follow and I don't take them seriously specially John McAfee although I must admit that he has build his empire from ground up but crypto sphere is a different kind of animal.

I still remember him claiming that his twitter account was hacked or something specially at the height of his "coin of the day" prediction. Lol.

Again, I'm asking where are these guys when bitcoin was still not mainstream? Do they really want to stay relevant that's why they ride the popularity of crypto's nowadays?

IMO Jogh McAfee doesn't seem like a trustworthy person. He already advertised some bad ICOs and recently in his twitter he said that he is a close friend of Roger Ver. At the same tweet he also accept that he support BCH which was made in order to scam people. Any connections with people like Roger Ver and John McAfee is a very bad sign and no one should take his predictions seriously.

Before you take them serious and then alter your positions because of that, then you need to ask yourself the question, who will bear the brunt of whatever will happen then you go ahead. Its no doubt that these people have a lot of followers and express optimism in what they believe in. Just a like politicians will stand in rallies to claim the amount of landslide victory their parties would make in the forth coming election, they forget that the winning party is actually decided by the population who will cast their votes. They have only expressed their opinions, and the possibility of that happening is not a function of opinions but factors that are even beyond what they can control. If factors work in their favor, and their prediction came to pass, then they are seers if otherwise, its just mere predictions not supported by reality.

There is a really important point in this message. And that is that the price can go to any level as long as there is enough support/demand from the general public. If the price does reach 1 million it won't be because McAfee said it could, it will be because enough people decided to assign a 'worth' to it that was 1 million or greater.

While I don't take them too seriously I don't put them outside the realm of possibility either. I mean when 2017 started did anybody really think 1k Bitcoin was going to turn into nearly 20k Bitcoin? Most pundits were aiming for 4-6k year and with the highest of estimates coming in at 10k. For that reason I don't think it is impossible, but for many reasons it seems likely improbable.

Many celebrities speak to see some trends
But at the same time they are also staunch holders of bitcoin, Their remarks can give you confidence, but this is not the motivation for your participation in the market
So this is forecast, No one will swear, But like them long-term bullish Never miss a fortune

There is trouble abrewing
both of them sound to me like people who are hungry for that attention they are receiving for different reasons including pump and dump and personal gains as McAfee already proved this.
as a result no i don't take their predictions seriously, i was thinking about following them and seeing if they can actually have any kind of effect but i decided against it because i have a rule for not following anybody who is like this. the damage is always worse.
