If buyer & seller want, I could escrow. I'm from Finland too, if it matters. I've dealt with Cas coins before in the Fin local forum at bittiraha.fi. Mursus can verify this if he wants, just drop me a msg there.
I must mention that if you want me to escrow, I do take fee --unlike some other escrowers around here.

Ahem, sorry all.

I've been busy for the last two days and couldn't check my emails yesterday and found out just now that the highest bidder had announced the deal is off.

What is most understandable is that neither of us wants to take absolutely zero risk sending either the money nor the coin to someone they don't know.

I should've done more planning on how to handle the shipping and payment. Didn't think that it's bit complicated because of the distance.

I'm not sure how to continue forward from here but at least I know that I shouldn't hasten with things like this.

Here's a classic example of how not to run an auction for any of you new members out there.

There is nothing not understandable about what should have happened here as it happens on a daily basis between new and old members.

1. You accept one of the very respected very reputable suggested to you. ( You have apparently said no to two suggestions without counter offering any other option )

2. Life gets in the way yes but you were the one that set the auction end date. Why set it to a time when you're going to busy and can't get in touch with the highest bidder.

The fact that your firstbits are hidden doesn't sit easy with me either. There are people with 10btc, 25btc Cas coins that have firstbits in clear visibility and don't worry as much as you. I hope comit or astro know the firstbits of this coin and share it with the community so you can not just simply make a new account and try for a higher winning bid.

Wow sorry to hear that comit. I did not realize it but I forgot to ask about time stamping that coin with his user name. What I hate about newbie auctions or sale is how they can easily back out of a deal if the auction or sale did not pan out their way. BItbank was a recent one where I made an offer and he ends up selling it on ebay.

The deal is off as far as I am concerned.

Seller doesn't want to use Minerjones as an escrow because, and I quote: "from my point of view, there's a risk related to an escrow who's eagerly recommended by the members of the forum. I can't know anything of him/her for sure and even less about your relations. So I wouldn't like to use him or the other option mentioned in an early message on the thread."

Asked the seller to propose another escrow but no more reaction from him, despite reminders. So, end of story. Angry

Thanks for the bids everyone, and especially astrocity1981 and comit.

Also thanks for the help and tips for a newbie seller like me.

Congratulations for comit for the highest bid!

I'll contact you via private message to talk the details.

And sorry already in advance - this forum prevents me from sending message no faster than 6 minutes after my last post, so my apologies for any delays.

Zekoroger , T MAN are actual buyers OP. Newbie accounts are mostly trolls that ruin your auction and scare away potential buyers, I will bid 1.31BTC because zekroger bid was valid if you agree then just say high bid is 1.31BTC.

I was asked how well aligned the key is and if it's askew.

I can't tell otherwise except for the public key because I've never opened the coin or seen one by my own eyes.

The public key is well aligned in middle both horizontally and vertically and it's not askew.

Here's a photo where you can barely see the first character and a part of the last character after the black box to see the key's position and orientation.

Thanks for bids all.

rusbitcoinuser, I would like to share the address only to the actual real buyer  - also to protect his/her interest. It might be that he or she doesn't want to publish the address so it's up to the new owner.

Zekoroger: You're right, seems that there are some new user, including myself. As seller, I try to ensure that everything is done in order for the buyer and seller to feel 100% confident about the transaction.

Auction will close on Sunday 11.6.2017 at 16.00 or 5 minutes after last bid.

One day until this auction ends - what timezone is the close time based in?

I don't see this detail anywhere in the OP and I suspect there might be some activity as we creep up to the close.

Thanks.

Thank you HabBear for you bid.

Naturally understood the contingency on your offer and I would like to point out that I would place such a requirement myself similarly.

On more general note, I feel it is most important that both the buyer and seller feel secure about that details of payment, shipping, possible or probable escrow and all the other possible relevant questions. I'm looking forward to discussing them both beforehand here in public and after the end of the auction personally with the highest bidder.

I am happy to help out and provide escrow and/or reshipping services if needed.
TMAN and monkeynuts (among many others) can vouch for this Cheesy

Thanks

I ask all bids to be made as public comments to the thread. Private offers will be not be considered.

I'll bid BTC1.175

My offer is contingent on your statement here and that coin is loaded with exactly face value:
Will provide possibility for the highest bidder to check the public key and that the value is loaded before the transaction.

The coin is unopened and untampered so it has its full value of 1 BTC still loaded in to it. There are no scratches or damage visible on the surface. I have kept it in a safe box for around 5 years, although the coin has been touched by hand a few times.  I will ship the coin in a plastic container.

I've personally bought it in 2012 in Finland from a wholesaler who had ordered lots of them directly from Casascius  and sold them at Bitcoin related events. So practically I'm the first and only actual owner of the coin.

1.125inch (28.6mm) in diameter.

The repetitive small hologram text reads "Casacius" instead of "Casascius", so the middle "s" is missing.

Will provide possibility for the highest bidder to check the public key and that the value is loaded before the transaction.

Seller pays for shipping. Please inform me about  your preferred shipping method. Will send insured and after payment.

Coin is not manufactued to be proof quality but is in good condition and especially the hologram side has nice reflection.

Accept PayPal, US$ or EUR, or Bitcoin for payment.

I appreciate that the buyer and seller exchange information about identity and negotiate details about payment and shipping by either phone, e-mail or face to face in person.

Glad to reply to your further questions on this thread or via private message.

All bids are welcome.

Auction will close on Sunday 11.6.2017 at 16.00 or 5 minutes after last bid.
