I've been coing since 8086 assembly language. What are your credentials apart from pretending Wordpress sites need custom HTML5. Give it a rest. You've been called out. Time to go home and cry to mummy.

Hahahahaha. Been called out for what? Yes anyone is free to use pre-made Wordpress themes if they please. The vast majority of professional website will have a theme custom made to suit there needs.

If I am looking for more projects in the future, I will remember to make the thread self-moderated to avoid your mindless rambling about web development.

Good day.

What a persuasive case you present.

Do you want me to list all the WP themes out there that do all the presentation work for you in HTML5 /CSS3 so you don't have to code a single line of HTML / CSS3 / PHP? Be quite happy to. Just let me know.

FFS, I thought this would be one of the more technical minded sections of the internet, but alas...

Either you are using Wordpress, or you are writing your own code in HTML5 / CSS3. You can't have your cake and eat it in web dev I'm afraid.

I once rewrote a Wordpress site (that had 50,000 files in it because WP is so bloated, together with its bloated plug-ins) into HTML 5 / CSS3 / modernizr.js" and it became 8 files.

I do not know what you are talking about. Wordpress is a CMS which makes updating the content of a site easier for non-technical people. HTML, CSS and jQuery is frontend which is delivered to the browser. No doubt you don't strictly need a CMS but it makes editing a site content a lot easier.

You are either playing dumb or making it up as you go along. Wordpress delivers the front-end for every website, not just the content. That part of it is called the "themes". If you use WP, you generally never write a line of code, certainly not presentation code. That's all done by the PHP theme code.

I create the theme...
You create a design in HTML, CSS, jQuery etc then you cut it into a WP theme. It seems like you don't know how WP works.

This is not a technical discussion of how to create a website, I would be completely fine with having a discussion but not here.

Very funny. I've created a couple of dozen WP sites. There are literally thousands of themes out there for every conceivable job, and the latest are very flexible in the page out they produce. Nobody needs a new theme. You just pay $20 to buy one already made, that has had hundreds of hours put into building it.

Go search for "WordPress Themes" - you'll be there all year. And the most they cost is $40, most are much cheaper.

Please stop. You didn't create anything if you just used a premade theme. There is plenty need for a build for purpose theme, lots of people don't want the same theme as x amount of people are using. They would also like some input into the design process.

I have no interest in your advice. I previously stated if you want a decision I would be happy for one but not here.

Hello Bitcoiners,

I currently in the middle of starting up as a freelance Web Designer and I am looking for a small project to hone my skills. I am willing to do a design from scratch or a redesign of your current website. I will be using Wordpress as the CMS(Content Management System) but I am willing to use Drupal instead on request. I will also be using HTML5 and CSS3 properties and will be supporting all major browser except IE7 and below(The site will work in all browser but it won't look as beautiful in older browsers).

I don't mind if you don't use my design, as I said this is mainly to hone my skills. To sum up if someone has a small Web Re/Design project but don't have a budget then leave a reply or pm me.

Thanks

EDIT: Ps. I have a BsC in Computer Science.
