I had quite a lot invested in R7...

The lack of news is irritating and it seems that you have dropped the ball.
What is going on? Am I the only one wanting to see my money back?

I will post a message everyday until this is resolved.

They've been ignoring us since late March.

I sent them everything they ask for to verify ID for a full refund on March 31. Not a peep from them since or a single response to follow up emails. Please feel free to contact them as well if you'd like on everyone's behalf. I mean, the order numbers are available so we can all reference it on my Photobucket site. It might help as in they hear from other irate people wondering when they're going to send refunds.

Bitmine has some explaining to do to all of us.

any news about the refund in this group buy?
As said in another of the Bitmine GB threads they are not replying to us
How aggressively are you going after them? You should be hounding them daily, you gathered a shitload of other peoples money to buy these.
And a decent amount of my own money, I have emailed them every few days.

While they're shipping units, they're so late, and there's enough momentum, that the Refund request is going in tomorrow. I would've sent it tonight but I don't have a scanner to scan my ID which they're requiring for refunds.

The refund form says that the refund should be processed in 30 days. When it arrives I'll be sending the BTC to Thomas to deliver your refunds (minus a small refund fee). BM is doing a conversion so they're sending the current USD equivalent of the BTC we sent at time of ordering.

Hello DZ, has it been 71 days of delay based on the committed shipment date?

If so, please see CPP and refunds deadline posted by Giorgiomassa. I have posted below...

CPP and refunds deadline
Confusion would be the best term to describe an otherwise very straightforward policy. A dedicated page explaining in simple words how the CPP works has been available here http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=850 since day 0, but it looks like it wasn't clear enough, or just not read by most people. Let me resume some key points:

1) First 10 days don't count in late delivery calculation.

2) Refunds can be asked on the 71th day of delay based on the committed shipment date, which is the one published when you place the order. For avalon-clones and December batch customer, that means you'll be able to ask the refund starting from February 27th (December 16th stated delivery date + 10 days + 60 days). An appropriate page on our web site under support will be opened tomorrow for anybody willing to ask for a refund and yes, we will be honoring them within 30 days.

3) The late delivery compensation for your unit(s) will be determined at the exact moment of its assembly, that's why it makes no sense to keep on asking the support team, they won't be able to give you an answer till the unit is in production!

4) The compensation is calculated on 10% steps of increase of the nominal hashing power that you've ordered, rounded to the next highest hashing module. So, if you ordered a 200 GH/s unit and your unit leaves our warehouse after 32 days of late delivery, that is 22 effective days which is 30% additional power. Theoretically that would be 260 GH/s which, in case of the Desk unit where the hashing modules are 200 GH/s each, that would make your order shipped with two 200 GH/s modules for a total of 400 GH/s. Before creating again a conspiracy based on my words, please note that we're currently evaluating the possibility to supply late orders with half-mounted hashing units (i.e. 4 CoinCraft A1 chips instead of 8 ) so whereas you'll still get more than what you were actually entitled for, it may be less than the above mentioned example.

5) Refunds are made in the same payment method on which the payment was originally made. That means: wire transfers get refunded with wire transfers, bitcoin payments get refunded with bitcoin payments.

6) Refunds are pinned to the daily exchange rate at the moment when the refund will be issued, based on the original USD price of your purchase order which is the base currency for the prices stated in the website. That means:
6.1 If you paid by wire transfer in USD, you get refunded by wire transfer in USD
6.2 If you paid by wire transfer in EUR, you get refunded by wire transfer in EUR at the daily USD/EUR exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.
6.3 If you paid by wire transfer in CHF, you get refunded by wire transfer in CHF at the daily USD/CHF exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.
6.4 If you paid by bitcoin transfer in BTC, you get refunded in BTC at the daily USD/BTC exchange rate based on your originally invoiced amount.

7) Refunds are not mandatory: if you don't request them with our refund request form, we won't be doing this automagically for you. You can opt to wait for your 50% (the maximum) compensated order to be delivered for any amount of time.

8 ) Refunds are based on the originally paid amount, excluding any coupons or discounts. For example, if as an avalon-clone customer you opted for a 50% free coupon on your originally paid amount of $1000, your refund will be based on $1000 and not on $1500.

What the latest news about this GB?
Knew I forgot one,

Bitmine has just began production today according to their website's news section. December / January batches will have the customer protection added, I think this affects this round (the customer protection is additional modules which will increase power consumption to make up for this hosting will be adjusted accordingly)

This is due in January sometimes. Hopefully it's mid-January late January. Let's cross fingers on this one.

Merry Christmas everyone! If you celebrate or don't celebrate this holiday, my toast of good cheers to you and yours is still the same. I'm thankful for our customers and I'm thankful for you co-op members that have helped make this co-op the success it is today by helping us improve things over time and helping one another out with knowledge. 5 months ago I had no idea I'd form the biggest public co-op in the world for BTC mining.

It's an honor to be the founder and co-leader of a co-op full of so many like minded miners, and I'm both humbled by our success and very thankful to have met my co-leaders, which has resulted in round after round of world class values, and a crypto umbrella company founded upon the core of the DZ MC (with the co-op shielded as a sub-company).

Here's to a successful 2014!

Is R8B sold out? This thread still says OPEN, 73/75 available..

Thanks for catching that amer. It's actually CLOSED.

Mistakes can happen when running simultaneous GBs, with multiple GBCs, and doing 21 Rounds (most of them with sub-rounds) of community fundraising for rigs in 5 months. That's my fault for not closing this round properly.

We were waiting to hear back from someone that essentially bought the last 2 modules (this was before we had a added 25% GB Round share ownership cap to our Group Buys after R15-16 sold out so quickly due to a few buyers).

The best guide as to whether something is in stock or not is to check our website and see if the Round (or product or contract, wow, we've grown!) is shown as in stock.

Cheers!

Sometimes everything is sold out in between putting new rigs up. It does take us time to figure out what we are offering next.

Sorry, the last of these shares was bought out internally as we're going to use this hashrate for the co-op war chest for: site and facility upgrades to better serve you all. The extra hashrate only came up to 2 modules: or 400GH/s.

We will be launching an R18x shortly. It is a January delivery but will only be $58 for 10-15GH/s.

I should have that listing up shortly. If we run out of shares, we'll even order more Rigs.

Cheers!

Thomas & I lagged on updating the site details. We've both been super busy setting up our pro arm of our BTC efforts which will include Miner Hosting, Arbitrage, and servicing many (and owning a few) BTC ATMs, among other activities. Lots of meetings and lots of edumacation.

However, this R8B GB is still open, and we'll add additional modules as funds come in.

Is projected hashrate per share 12-15? (600GH/s - 850GH/s)

I trust you guys will be able to get turbo out of it with your experience :p.

I should be able to put a dent in them shares before Oct 31st, when is the delivery due?

Yes, that seems to be closer to actual hashrate. We'll be kicking the tires on overclocking since we have site specific conditions that baby these miners vis-a-vis power/cooling/internet.

This reminds me: thanks to the extra value of BTC that we just passed on to you all, the actual nominal and turbo hashrates for R8 shares is now officially estimated to be 25GH per Coincraft chip at nominal, 40GH/s per Coincraft chip at Turbo, so I can give you some estimates. Therefore:

R8 Share ~= 600 GH/s / 47 shares = 12.76 GH/s ea.

R8 Share - Turbo
~= 960GH/s / 47 shares = 17.87 GH/s ea.

Not too shabby for $60 and with all of our exclusive co-op bonuses included.

Remember: These are estimates and if the hardware is behaving well, we'll see about getting even more hashrate without damaging our equipment.

Gah, I had just messaged on the site earlier about Round 8 and was told it was still open Sad  Tempted... just hate to not get enough others to buy in.

Well, it will only cost you 3 days of time if we don't get enough to purchase a 150GH/s of additional hardware, since there's no restock fee.

Had to adjust the number of shares from 50 to 75. Realized we were raising 75% of the hashrate from R7/R8; not half. Duh.

Here's the site shortlink to R8B: http://www.dzminercoop.com/?p=234

He may have been referring to the fact that oversales would be shifted to R8B if payments weren't made before we bought modules from HashFast.

I believe you're in R8 as I saw a flurry of buys this morning before the order went in, locked in at that $200+ BTC price. We were trying to give you guys the best value possible at no extra charge.  Those R8 guys/gals are lucky, they're going to get a lot more bonus hashrate than R7 thanks to BTC appreciation while we were holding R8 funds. Round 8 is CLOSED, by the way.

Doesn't mean the sale has to end, however. We're opening up Bitmine Rig Round 8B, which is a continuation of R8 at these rates until October 31 in three days.

75 shares available in Round 8B.

If we don't raise enough for 1 or more Bitmine modules (we have capacity for 30% more modules) before October 31 then: we will refund you with no restock fee...

Great news for the owners of the 41-45 or so shares paid for R8! Thomas bought a few shares so this Round so that the ordered hashrate could be kicked up to 600GH/s for Round 8!

For the co-op: We were able to take advantage of the rise in price of BTC to lock in a payment just a little north of the $200 USD mark.

Ergo: your hashrate just became more valuable due to the rise of BTC's value since your payment(s). You directly benefit without any additional cost!

We'll sort out just how much hashrate bonuses you guys scored once we have final numbers but the calculation for payouts in R8 will be:

1) Proportion of HashRate for R8 is:

Total Hashrate - Round 7 Hashrate = Round 8 HashRate.
1400GH/s - 800 GH/s = 600 GH/s Nominal HashRate

This is therefore equivalent to 42.86% of the Bitmine's combined Hashrate and concomitant payouts. This is assuming we were unable to split hashrate fairly between R7/R8 at these exact proportions in software.

2) Within Round 8, after fees of 2.75% hosting/management fees are applied, the payout calculation per miner is:

Total BTC Mined  * Your Shares / Total R8 shares PAID = Your R8 payout

Ex. 10 BTC Mined by R8 modules. 24 shares PAID out of 48 SOLD in R8.
Therefore: 10 BTC * (24/48) = 5 BTC

Hey madpoet,

Yes, please do. It's the easiest way for us to track things and export to spreadsheets.

Also: very important, if you're buying from 2 or more DZ MC rounds, *please* separate the transactions so that Thomas doesn't have to pull his hair out trying to figure out who bought what, for how much (a limitation of our free tools, at the moment; upgrades are planned shortly).

5 more days left in this promo if anyone wants to take advantage of the 15% Halloween Sale at Bitmine.

Whatever BTC we have on hand by October 31 will be sent to Bitmine to purchase whatever hashrate we get, and this will likely close out Round 8. Any advances made in the price of BTC since you bought your share(s) will be applied to extra hashrate per share at no extra charge!

This same situation led to 9% extra hashrate being slated to be spread amongst R7 share owners since we had enough funds on hand to buy our target hashrate of 800GH/s with only 91 shares bought.

This still leaves open the possibility of a Round 8B for extra Bitmine modules for the R7 rig after October 31.

PP is an option this time or not. I am confused.

It was an option that's now unavailable.

Sorry, we're all full up on that as that puts a strain on the co-op leaders finances as we have to float PayPal shares for 1 to 2 weeks (and it was still costing us a few bucks per transaction).

Companies like Square and PayPal see the Bitcoin protocol as a threat. Instead of using this protocol to save money for customers, they'd rather be run over by the Bitcoin train while they stuff their fingers in their ears and close their eyes tightly, wishing it would all go away.

Whatever shares we sell in Round 8 will go towards whatever number of upgrade modules we can afford by Halloween.

Currently we can purchase 1 upgrade module to be housed in the R7 Bitmine Rig, worth an extra 150-250 GH/s of hashrate.

Could be phantom orders, double orders, a competitor, or a troll.

If someone's trolling us they can only slow a Round down, no big deal. We just adjust the numbers upwards later and carry on. Life will go on yet that troll will still need to find a way to get a life.

One new co-op update that I can add: Thomas & I have agreed to officially work with a true FinCen registered MSB! That means that for US customers, for only 3% extra, you can convert cash into Bitcoin in 15 minutes to 1 hour!

http://cashintocoins.com/

You simply deposit your cash into a US Bank and soon after BTC will be sent to the address that you specified on your behalf! This is from their FAQ:

"Q. How quickly do I get my bitcoins?

A. Short anwer, as quickly as possible. Long answer, it depends on your payment method. Cash deposits to any bank will get you your coins within 1 hour, often less than 15 minutes."

The DZ MC is in the process of registering as an official reseller for Cash Into Coins, but for US customers: please feel free to immediately begin using their service if you'd like.

For Intl. customers: if anyone has inexpensive fiat into BTC options they can recommend, we're all ears.

I, personally, recommend Bitstamp for Intl. BTC purchases simply because that's the exchange rate we use and for the fact that they have low rates.

That earlier delivery in R10 is tempting, but this R8 option is great for those looking to spend half of what R10 costs.

Perhaps you might want to sound out co-op members if you need help. I know jungle_dave a former EE/Net. Engineer, with a cryptography background, and has some ideas to improve hashing efficiency. There's also a couple of other EEs in the co-op.

WRT to R8: Please contact -R- to see if he can fit you in. I'm still floating 4 eBay shares I need to get to him for R6 and 2 more eBay shares for OldGeek for R7.

We use the current Bitstamp rate when you're doing your purchase. This helps us deal with currency volatility which is why you see DZ MC GB shares priced in USD since Round 2. We'd only change this if a Rig we targeted was priced strictly in BTC.

==

BTW, I noticed on Reddit that you mentioned that you have a CNC mill? I do too (CNC mill & lathe and 3D printer), but I've never seemed to find the time/inclination to train on this CNC gear sitting in my garage. I should probably sell this gear. It's worth a bit.

Let me know if you'd be interested in helping me with a side project. I have a world class machinist buddy that helped me come up with something interesting but he's far too busy it seems to help me on this little side electronics project. I need a small volume of precision aluminum objects for my neat little project.

Please shoot me a PM if you're interested in helping me out with your CNC skills. Cheers!

Since you just ordered the other rig a couple days ago you should try and get this pricing on both.

Our order was complete 2 nights ago. We had already canceled our first order from last Friday and applied the money to our order on the 15th to save about 4-5 BTC (which is the first time with 7 Industrial class ASIC rig purchases I've ever had to do this). I had to do a bit of back & forth with Bitmine to make sure it was coordinated correctly. I'd feel bad about cancelling *yet again* esp. when Giorgio and I both know that the new promotion started last night.

Keep in mind: they're a small startup much like many of the new ASIC mfgs. I don't want to abuse their ordering system further then I already did as I'm trying to build longer term business relationships with various manufacturers to benefit our co-op. We already saved 12% off the at-cost BTC cost simply by using the higher exchange rate this week.

These 12% savings were already passed on to the R7 members in the form of only having to raise 91% of our targeted shares, so that 9% extra hashrate is being split amongst the 91 PAID R7 shares.

Hey, DZ, all, - I want to buy 10 shares in R8, for $600... but how is the translation determined into BTC? Would it be acceptable to simply PP-gift the money to Thomas_s?

Thanks!

Prices have been reduced 15% for this Round 8 thanks to Bitmine's New Halloween Sale!

I just happened to be the first person in the world outside Bitmine to find that out thanks to a Skype conversation when he told me about it.  Smiley

Therefore: this is the first Public Notice of this promotion.

At-cost Share Prices have been reduced from $70 a share to $60 a share!

R8 is now open again for those that want Bitmine hashrate in December.

R7 is locked at 95 shares w/ the addition of OldGeek's 2 eBay shares as the last R7 shares.

New R8 purchases will be allocated to upgrade modules from the R7 Rig.

Paused for now.

Late R7 payments will be shifted to this round. This may include ebay payments which require sending a tracked letter w/ signature confirmation.

R8 is paused for now, but I'm positive it will open up shortly or a few days.
R7 reserves were opened to anyone because they weren't paid if you were interested in R8 you can hop into R7 instead.

First time I added a product to my own co-op's site.  Tongue  Cheesy

I did it all by myself... Well, me and Control C+Control V...and the site Thomas built, hosted, and patiently taught me to use. Other then that: all by myself.

Site is open for Round 8 ordering now. Cheers!

BTC Option (least expensive form of payment): www.dzminercoop.com

=====

If you or someone you know only have PayPal funds available, there's still a PayPal at-cost option available via my wife's eBay acct. where I'm her co-seller/buyer for eBay IT related items: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131018101196

Of course, this option is more convenient but it's more expensive, as it includes at-cost eBay + at-cost shipping fees that aren't incurred through our site.

Round 8 Payment Details (Similar to R7-R10, for the most part)

========================================================================

BTC Payments will be directed to thomas_s via our site for R8 but I will have co-admin to this wallet for auditing or for payments if we're in a rush. We've worked together on 8 different Group Buys with great success including 2 of the fastest GB sellouts in the forum's history for Industrial class Rigs.

For US Customers: for a 3%  fee for USD conversion to BTC, we recommend: www.cashintocoins.com a FinCen compliant USB who can get BTC sent to the wallet address you want in as little as 15 minutes to an hour.

For Intl. Customers: We are still exploring suggestions for inexpensive BTC conversion but I can recommend www.bitstamp.net at this time as that's the exchange rate used by our payment processor.

DZ MC R8 Product Link: http://www.dzminercoop.com/?product=r8-bitmine-rig

PayPal payments (UPDATE): If payment is being made by Paypal place an order on the site and place a note on the order when you place it saying you're paying by paypal...then give whoever you are buying BTC from the order # and the payment address. Please make sure to send it as a gift to "friends and family." This helps keep your share prices as low as possible (no PP fees) and well as protects us against illegal chargebacks after BTC deposits have already been paid out in November. Sorry, this is no longer available. This payment method is "sold out."

If there's any concerns about registering your payment, please follow up with a PM to Thomas or a support ticket. There's two methods to resolve this:

A. Send a support ticket on our website www.dzminercoop.com

OR

B: PM to thomas_s on this site

Subject: DZ HF GB R8, x shares, x BTC
Details: Please include Tx ID, your wallet address for payout, and any concerns you may have about your transaction(s)

thomas_s -  Primary GBC for Rounds 5-10. Co-GBC during R3-R7. R2 member. Send BTC payments and questions for R7 to thomas_s . Set up Online Auto Reservations for the co-op! Thank you! PM CC -Redacted- and thomas_s please.

DZ - Need escrowed Group Buy shares? For a 2% extra fee you get 3rd party fund holding, dispute resolution, and $500 insurance per transaction at BTCrow. [DISCLAIMER: I, DyslexicZombei, am an approved Escrow Affiliate at BTCrow.] Please PM Carbon Copy thomas_s please prior to escrow payment.

NEW! 10/18 UPDATE from Thomas:

"Bobsag3 will be accepting wire transfers (for 20+ shares) and chase quick pay (any quantity of shares). and credit cards by Square https://squareup.com/market/miner-hosting-llc/share-r-bitfury-gh-s-min-ups-backup

Thomas_s will be accepting TD bank and CitiBank (USA) checks (any quantity of shares). At this time no other banks checks are being accepted. EDIT: Sorry, only available for Round 8. My mistake.

*These payment options are only available for Rounds that don't need BTC conversions. (At the moment the only open Round(s) is/are 10)

I've also located the reason for the zombie rounds...apparently there is a bug in the site where it reduces the stock when the order is placed and when it is paid.

The updates on the forum were going by what the site displayed which was effectively doubling what was actually sold so that's where those shares magically popped up from
"

Thomas is handling questions and collecting payments for R8 via our site (unless you require Escrow, in which case you can PM me). He set up the automated reservation site and the GB with my input. Great work Thomas, and it's definitely an improvement over me trying to keep up w/ an avalanche of PMs and payments.  Tongue

I will still handle or assist in:

- Ordering
- Shipping details
- (Optional) Escrowed GB shares for those that insist on Escrow Protection from a 3rd party for: holding BTC funds, post-sales dispute resolution, $500 insurance per transaction at 2% extra cost to share price. Semi-automated Escrow is done thru BTCrow.
- Remote miner setup
- Remote troubleshooting/
- Incremental overclocking
- Payouts or assist in payouts
- Auditing hashrate vis-a-vis payouts
- Dispute resolution and arbitration, if necessary. [Should be rare as we're all adults that don't need to yell. Tongue]

Refunds: If we can't raise the funds to buy the full 800GH/s, we'll just order smaller modules with less hashrate. Refunds are discouraged because of the chaos caused in Group Buys, but if necessary, you will be refunded before the miner ships, at a 1.5% restock fee. After the miner ships, no refunds are available.

By sending payment, you agree to these Refund terms before purchase.

Dec. update: This is CLOSED.

Sorry about any confusion. Also, if you didn't hear, December orders slipped to January but January orders supposedly haven't been affected.

==

November 3 update: This R8B GB is still open! The share price is back up to $70. You can get a refund if you want or you can just hang out until we get enough BTC for another module. This is currently the only DZ MC GB being run at this time.

75 73 ZERO shares available!*

FLASH UPDATE, 10/16, 10:45 PM HST: I'm in a Skype conversation with Giorgio from Bitmine in another window. He's confirming a NEW Halloween Sale: 15% off Regular Prices! Therefore prices have been reduced for our at-cost R8 GB share prices by 15%! The new R8 share price has been reduced from $70 to $60!

This is the first Public Notice of this Promotion, since I tend to have discussions with various ASIC manufacturers when these kinds of things come up.  Grin

10/28 update: Bitmine Rig Rounds 7 and 8 are now CLOSED and PAID. You can still buy shares in this rig in R8B, however.  Grin

Back by popular demand! How am I supposed to keep the shelves stocked if you guys/girls keep buying everything?  Cheesy  Wink

Re-introducing Bitmine to the DZ MC! We almost bought a BM Rig for R2 until we received a Day 1 HF buyout offer we couldn't refuse.
Round 7 is the host Bitmine Rig for Round 8 and this new Round 8B Round which maxes out at 600GH/s nominal hashrate.

* If we fail to sell enough shares before Oct. 31 to secure 15% off pricing for at least one expansion module, then all R8B buyers will be refunded with no restock fee.

Target machine is a Bitmine Rig: https://bitmine.ch/?product=coincraft-rig

10/28, Round 8B update:

Target hashrate for Round 8B is 600GH/s with 75 shares issued. This is the *nominal* hashrate. We're running this in Turbo mode and possibly Super.Turbo mode since we'll have our Cooperative's miners in an extra cold, enclosed A/C cooled cabinet built by bobsag3 and other engineers at his pro colo facility. Turbo Hashrate is officially listed at about 850GH/s.

At-cost Share price is: $70 $60 for 8-13 10-15 GH/s, est. delivery late December/early January.
Hosting/Management fees are applied during payouts every 2 weeks, and are the world's lowest professional hosting/management fees at only 2.75%

Your share includes an estimated 20 minutes of power protection built into the at-cost share price. Power protection from outages, sags, and spikes come from an APC UPS with Battery Bank to keep the BTC flowing during short power outages.

This R8 Bitmine Rig is in the Bitmine reservation queue with a downpayment already sent: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/DZMinersCooperative-Bitmine800GHs-Round7.png

These R8 upgrade modules will ship at the exact same time as the R7 Bitmine Rig.
