Plus how can you guarantee another person's actions? If you have an answer to that please let us know because i think that would be more valuable to us than my little idea.

That's true Napster did get shut down but correct me if i'm wrong but there should be more things that people can share other than copyrighted material. Still it's just a very rough idea at this point in time so comments are still welcome. Thanks.

That's what I am telling you, if you want to make this website possible then you should guarantee that what is being shared in that website is legal or is not violating any kind of laws because this is what will get you in trouble. Not only will your website shutdown but you will also face sanctions because of it. So you really need to have some kind of screening process as well as rules in place to what can be shared in your website in order to prevent illegal date from being spread by the use of your service.

Yes, there can be but you know, people love sharing copyrighted materials like games, movies and etc. Despite the fact that Napster had issues, you can adapt something like Youtube has for protecting copyrights (idk how is that possible or even whether that's possible but just saying if it's). Or also maybe including button of copyright abuse can help a little.
Otherwise only deal in this situation to my mind is to operate that business in DMCA ignored places like Russia for example but in this case you have to get rid of their copyrighted materials I guess.

Already sounds illegal for me to begin with, that's why Napster was shutdown in the first place because of copyright issues. So if you want to be a file sharing /cloud storage site I think you need to focus more on what will be the content of your website since you can only put in original works or dat that have been authorized to be shared because a few files being illegaly shared in your website would only bring you down.

lol i wouldn't say add it to the industry, it's a very rough idea maybe even a concept at this point in time but anyways. An idea for a p2p cloud marketplace would be you have a quote unquote regular cloud data storage right.. but now with the capability for easily buying sharing and trading your storage and just your storage but what's in your storage. Your files etc etc.. with friends, family and people you can add on the network or other social networks. Anyways still very rough but none the less just an idea. Any thoughts and comments are welcome.

So they have a file marketplace? Like a p2p data marketplace? Or is it just storage?

Storj, Sia and Filecoin does not have p2p marketplace. Filecoin will pay you for your computer spaces used in storing data.
Can you explain the features of the p2p marketplace you intend to add to this industry ?

I've seen this idea on multiple ICO projects, not sure where they are now, most likely dead. One of the main reasons is because the demand is not that high. Unless you can spam/promote aggressively and tell people to sell their data instead of using paid short link and upload the files to cloud storage.

You pay to get your files stored or get paid to store other people's files. It's like a decentralized Dropbox. You don't buy/sell files with them.

Storj, Filecoin, Sia are all projects that offer what you're looking for.

I've tried Storj in the past, and I wasn't impressed by the rates. I don't think it is tempting. Not for the average user with limited resources anyway.

I don't know if anyone remembers Napster but Napster back when it first came out was a revolutionary thing. One of the first mainstream Peer to Peer (P2P) file sharing softwares and programs. Just think you can download any songs, files etc etc.. All for free. Pretty cool right? Anyways back to cloud storage and the new idea. What if we can implement a cloud storage "add on" with a p2p like interface where you can buy sell and trade data. Almost like a Cloud Data Marketplace. Any thoughts or ideas? Also comments are welcome. Thanks.
