STOP SNITCHIN'
I agree that they are more concerned about profit, and the manipulated data is a problem.

But I couldn't find more reliable alternatives yet.
Cmc shows a lot of different coins and tokens, their price on exchanges,  the average price between all of them... updated in real time. I find it very good. I tried others but I always come back to cmc for some reason.

Which one do you use?

I often see CoinGecko recommended as an alternative. Their coin ranking methodology doesn't seem to differ much from CMC, but their exchange rankings look much better:

This is CMC's top 10 by adjusted volume:

There isn't a single legitimate exchange in the bunch. The thing that bothers me most about CMC is it drives new users towards scam exchanges. I know which site of the two I'll be recommending from now on.

Which one do you use?
Try https://cryptowat.ch/, they provide a simple and attractive interface, but the interesting part is the ability to track charts with the ability to add more currencies ---> https://cryptowat.ch/markets/kraken/btc/usd.
I leave you the option to browse more features.
I can add more when I back to home, I am using the phone now.

Unfortunately, CMC is a Blockchain.info version that tracks cryptos price. Fame is what made him in first place.
Perhaps it was one of the best sites in the past but they did not change many strategies that made ranking cryptocurrencies according to the market capacity "which can be easily manipulated" misleading for many beginners.
The site is now concerned with profit more than developing an attractive and more reliable interface.

It will be a fun interview and we may get some answers.

Wow, I think it's a pretty cool interview. I like the responses in the blog. I've been using Coinmarketcap for years and switched to Coingecko very recently due to some recommendations I got when CMC was down for some hours. But in any case, Coinmarketcap is a big deal and a pretty useful website. What's bad is the issue of manipulating trading volumes that has been spotted to affect the list of top crypto exchanges on Coinmarketcap. Perhaps, this is a universal problem with such websites, and it's not their fault, but I am wondering if there are some strategies being implemented to cope with such fake volume cases and make sure they don't change the big picture of which exchanges are the top ones.
