Any media provides "fake news" because each one has its own point of view and purpose. Journalists cannot be objective at all so they spread all kind of news commanded from social or political authorities.

Very funny to watch when the Russians are the world leaders in fake news trying to blame others. Can give you some advice. Not to look fake in news stories CNN view full broadcast of any Russian channel. There is no truth. A pack of lies.

Others? You mean private corporation that is Communist News Network? Well, even other liberal outlets are starting to demask CNN for what it is, lobbying organization, not a news outlet.

In CNN’s newsroom, it is called the Triad: a three-pronged internal system designed to ensure that sensitive reporting by the network’s journalists is unimpeachable before it runs.

Last week, the Triad fell short — and by Tuesday, the consequences were being felt across the news industry and in the hallways of the White House.

CNN was forced to apologize after retracting a story on its website that a Russian bank linked to a close ally of President Trump was under Senate investigation. Three high-ranking journalists at the network resigned.

But the mea culpa did not stop Mr. Trump and his supporters from seizing on the mistake, condemning CNN and claiming it as evidence that other major news organizations were conspiring against the administration. On Twitter, Mr. Trump wrote that “they caught Fake News CNN cold” and asked, “What about all the other phony stories they do?”

I give them some credit for posting a retraction

I can't say I've ever seen Fox News print a retraction when they post bullshit... Fox "News" loves spreading bullshit fake news....

Here's a case where they bowed under pressure to retract a story.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/slain-dnc-staffer-family-demands-retractions-fox-news-article-1.3174623

It wasn't quite the case that they determined it was fake news.

I can think of one or two cases where Oreilly later found something was false, and he was fast to retract it. That's different than the network doing a retraction, of course.

In February 2007, the Russian creativity agency E-generator put together a "rating of Russophobia" of Western media, using for the research articles concerning a single theme—Russia's chairmanship of G8, translated into Russian by InoSmi.Ru. The score was composed for each edition, negative values granted for negative assessments of Russia, and positive values representing positive ones. The top in the rating were Newsday (−43, U.S.), The Financial Times (−34, Great Britain), The Wall Street Journal (−34, U.S.), Le Monde (−30, France), while editions on the opposite side of the rating were Toronto Star (+27, Canada) and "The Conservative Voice"[128] (+26, U.S.).

California-based international relations scholar Andrei Tsygankov has remarked that anti-Russian political rhetoric coming from Washington circles has received wide echo in American mainstream media, asserting that "Russophobia's revival is indicative of the fear shared by some U.S. and European politicians that their grand plans to control the world's most precious resources and geostrategic sites may not succeed if Russia's economic and political recovery continues."

Realistically, they went overboard on the Russia thing for 2 reasons
1) They want to blame someone besides Hillary for her loss
2) They need a distraction or people will talk about healthcare, specifically single-payer

It's mostly the distraction from single-payer healthcare... that's something the media doesn't want because they are oligarchy/friends with the healthcare industry

Does CNN make on Air some video about it?

CNN mostly do it, they did in the past, but they still never learns.

Most of the News around the world is fabricated according to what the viewers wants it to look like.
New sells what can be sold easily. It's the people to be blamed for.

Not most of them, just some of them. Not all news stations are doing the same thing especially local news. Here in our place, there are a lot of eyes that are watching the media, if they make some mistakes, they will be the headline of other news stations.

Quite irresponsible of them. What if they said bad stuff about the guy and then it turns out to be not true. How will they repair any damage done to his reputation?

A single retraction on the site won't do. Heck, that page's content was so tiny. Even if they aired the apology on air, it's not likely to get to everyone, especially since they'll likely just do it once.

They'd probably mention it on their channel once or twice. That would not be enough to reverse any damage done though. When a news network reports on something and then have to retract it, it's very likely that people would still believe it to be true. Of course, why wouldn't they? How likely are busy people to scour the network's site for errata?

Unless it's really a bit topic that the retraction would be talked about in other networks, many people would continue believing the misinformed article is true.
