Can't say that this is a positive news for me because there ain't that much vending machines here.
I am quite surprised that Japan doesn't still implement this though or I could've just missed a news. Huh

I heard the NZ is already COVID-19 free so I think this enhances the way of social distancing to people post-pandemic.

You won't be seeing cryptos become popular and mainstream in Japan as their society and economy very much prefer paper money even though they have plenty of vending machines. Same thing for Germany in case you don't know that they also prefer cash as well.

Amazing it was another achievement of the cryptocurrency adaptation, I hope it will continue to spread not just in Australia and New Zealand but to the other parts of the world including my country. Although that Bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies are accepted in some establishments, still it was just a small part of the wide array of products and services that needs to be included in cryptocurrency adaptation.

There are some debit card that is crypto integrated which is partners with some known retails outlets or known establishments that accepts crypto payments. Living with crypto is getting real everyday. Now we can book flights and Hotels with crypto. By taxi credits and supermarket gift cards with crypto. And now you can even a bottle of coca cola with crypto. Libra don't look like a crypto-currency with full decentralized system because of the centralized controls mechanism. From the whitepaper of Libra, only selected company/partners can participate in the networks and other public can't maintain/join in nodes of libra which make its more centralized than the Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies because anyone can take part in the bitcoin's network by setting up the nodes in his/her own. Is centrapay the same project that had an ico like 2 3 years back but it was charged by some US authorities and perhaps it was closed down i am not sure but the name is exactly the same.

It is actually a really good news, but the article doesn't mention which coin will be used (or i missed it. Just skimmed through it when it started to talk about the virus). I doubt it is going to be bitcoin. Would be stupid to wait for like 3-5 mins (and more than an hour during heavy load or pay ridiculous fee) in front of the vending machine for just a soda.

Yes, it got more attention since Coca-cola is very popular but it is not the Main headquarters that is located at United States is doing this partnership. But still, Coca-Cola Amatil making it happen is a great achievement for the crypto community. It seems you are correct upon reading the blog I also search some in google looks like they can only use the Sylo Smart Wallet to interact with those vending machines, I have encountered this project before but it seems they have poor reviews on playstore. I have a chat on their admin in telegram they said KYC is not required to use the wallet.

It's a step of Giant for cryptos to be largely adopted by those big players in the market. But let's think about:
- Covid crisis and the urgent need for a cashless system so those big campagnies can continue progress of their businesses.
- Centralised cryptocurrencies that are mainly controlled by one or more entity which can limit this adoption to just one or two crytos. In the same field, i may think about facebook coin called Libra which is not a cryptocurrency rather than a currency adopted by many giant campanies, which i can also guess it will orient users to adopt its kind.

In a wolrd of centralised governments, the essential element to note that cryptos are widely adopted is when it is legalised by Govs so people who start using it won't find themselves breacking rules of the country where they live. Until that will happen, we can't yet admit that cryptos are ADOPTED widely .

Wow now you can get a coke with crypto. This is surely a next step towards crypto adoption. I hope to see such vending machine be placed all around the world so I don't have to use fiat. Crypto are now getting much more popular among international travelers as card acceptability as well the hassle of carrying cash sucks.
