If you are looking to cash in on positive fundamental news and events that can pump the market then you need to join the telegram and other social media channels of your coins to know the first hand information and take action when required. If you want some aggregate source then you can follow major crypto news outlets, use twitter, fb and reddit regularly and you will come across all yhe news you require about noticable events.

I believe this forum is more than enough to offer you that which you are looking for, there are sections you can visit to know upcoming projects etc but to know about the announcement of any project you need to visit the project's ANN thread, in cases there is no active ANN thread then the projects telegram group, telegram channel, twitter or medium page is the best place to start with. Also, be careful with the so called good coins as they can be a bad one at the same time they can be a good one, thus due diligence is highly recommended.

Most if not all are usually posting new entry to their medium.com blog as part of their channel to market their project. And you can also subscribed a.k.a follow their twitter account because all of them has twitter for their followers to monitor news. Nothing has changed actually since 2008, websites providing services or even just a blog has facebook and twitter.

For some coins, they update their ANN threads here, its going to be a an old schoool marketer probably.

It depends on how many of them you want to monitor. Create a spreadsheet and have a reference links to website, announcement thread on bitcointalk, twitter, reddit, medium or any other social links they offer. Coinmarketcap would give you the reference to those links. Go through them once a day and extract what you need.

You can use Coinmarketcap for this task: https://coinmarketcap.com/

If you click on the rating tab you will see how healthy is the coin: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/ratings/

Maybe this is the best way to do what you want because if you want a bot to collect info and make an evaluation of the coin, then you are getting in a complex problem.

Good coin monitoring? there's no such. A good coin depends on your standards and how you pick them won your own. There are these websites CMC and coingecko that you have to choose your good coins. Each of the coins listed there attached their respective announcement and websites.
Now you do the research and think of how good they are.

Here in the forum we are talking about posts, threads and new announcements or news about the coins and the market and it is kind of good because we are just
keep on updated anywhere and anytime. But if you want to look for easiest site then go to cryptocrunch there are some new relative news about cryptocurrency that
may help you to get updated.
True, this forum is also quite good as a reference, if the project is promoted here then dev will be easier to contact and provide the latest updates. I usually visit https://www.cryptocompare.com/ https://coinmarketcap.com/ and https://www.coingecko.com/en to see new projects. The website provides fairly complete information and important official links related to the project. This is effective to avoid phishing and fraud.

I was thinking of monitoring a good coin monitoring [site/post/thread/announcement] but I don't know where to start.

All I'm looking to do is see which coins have a major announcement which could affect its price.

What's the best and easiest [site/post/thread/announcement] to monitor to get this info quickly and easily?

Appreciate the help,

JH

I usually use blockfolio. And at the same time, check on Ilcoin project, very good investment right at this early stage

It would be really difficult to track a lot of coins at once. The best way to cover as much official announcement manually is to subscribe their twitter handles and go through their twits. For a detailed study and monitoring of coins, reddit is the best place to observe as many of the popular coins don't have an active thread on the forum while reddit is always vibrant with users questions and discussion.

If you lack the knowldenge to be involved in trading, don't do trading. I think that's the best advice anyone can give you. If you do that, there is little difference between trading and gambling, and in both scenarios you end up loosing all your money.

You could otherwise buy bitcoin or another established altcoin and HODL. See if in a couple of years the price has gone up, and take the profits.

Yeah aware of the scams but nevertheless, people do use them for pumps or manipulation.

My aim is to be there ahead of time for the party.

But is there just one place which I can monitor, instead of sifting through many threads?

You are in Bitcointalk so we mainly discuss Bitcoin. Nevertheless, there is a board for Altcoins, should you be interested in those. But be advised, for my point of view, taht section is mostly spam and scams; there are thousands of tokens, each one aiming for a different "solution" of something, and in the end, they all end up being bait for speculation and being pumped/dumped without any real value. There are however a couple of coins that may be something more than speculation (ETH, DOGE, LTC), but those are only a few compared to the thousands of other shitcoins.

If you are interested in checking prices, you can use CMC or coingecko.

Be careful as to which exchange you use, since some have been proven to be shady to say the least (yobit).

And I don't think there's much more to say....
