Coinomi is connecting just fine on mobile. It takes too long to synchronize though!
The more coins you have on your main wallet, the longer time it takes to synchronize. So start by removing the coins you don't use and see if this solves your problem.
I noticed that adding Monero slows down my wallet.
Since you only have bitcoin, It would be better to follow the above suggestions and switch to a better wallet like Electrum (make sure to download it from the official website electrum.org and verify its signature).

Coinomi is useful if you want to play with shitcoins, but otherwise it's pretty bad.
No, I will not do that, it's painful to see that you're paying high fees by swapping your coins there on your Coinomi wallet.  It might you'll not enjoy it if you will find out about their terrible fees, maybe just because they are using the third party quick swap exchange platforms like Changelly and Totle swap, the reason for this having a massive fee.  Swapping or storing Bitcoin still not worth it for me, sorry for that.

this bitcoin is really starting to become aggrovating andf i am starting to HATE THIS! i had 15$ in bitcoin in a coinami wallet and now it dose not connect even thugh reinstalled the coinami. how do i access and USE my bitcoins ut just says no connection and im afried i have wasted 15$.
Regarding your concerns, just follow what giving advice above, I'd also used this wallet before and I don't have a problem synchronizing into the network, touch the screen in your mobile and drag it down to refresh the synchronization and also, might check your internet connectivity.  Your Bitcoin didn't lose, just recover it.

if you go to your coinomi wallet and click on receive tab to see the address there is a derivation path below the address like M/84H/0H/0H/0/0.
you should also use this path for your key when you click next.
OR he can use this topic to get more private key which can import it to all wallets --->https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/get-your-coinomi-private-keys-with-ease-5167357 (use iancoleman.io/bip39/ offline)
CoinOmi have some problems with bordcast tx when mempool is full. i have the same problem back to 2017 and stopped using it.
Use CoinOmi to store low values altcoins.

This is the problem with closed source light wallets that use a centralized server to connect to and synchronize. They have a centralized point of failure (among other things such as lack of privacy) and when that server has issues their service become unusable.
Yet another reason to avoid using Coinomi.

I concur with the above. Don't use Coinomi... there are much much much MUCH better Bitcoin wallets available. Coinomi is useful if you want to play with shitcoins, but otherwise it's pretty bad.

Thankfully Coinomi is BIP39 compatible, so you should be able to take your 12 word seed and restore you wallet in another BIP39 compatible wallet... perhaps have a look here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Use much better wallets like electrum as suggested.
OP, take note of the above advice.  Don't hate bitcoin because you're using a lousy wallet--bitcoin didn't jump out of a birthday cake with a gun pointed at your head to force you to download Coinomi.  Just sayin'.  And also as others have said, you haven't lost that $15 worth of BTC as long as you wrote down the seed phrase.

And as far as the problem with Coinomi goes, I've had that issue before because I've used the wallet before....but not in a long, long time, and I don't remember exactly how I got the problem fixed.  What I can say is that all is not lost and I have faith that you'll figure it out.

On the other hand, if you're going to attempt to send $15 worth of bitcoin to another address right now, be prepared to lose a decent chunk of that $15 in network fees.  I'd suggest that if you absolutely don't need to send it immediately, wait until the network is less congested and it's cheaper to send small amounts.  Now that's not Coinomi's fault, it's a bitcoin thing that happens from time to time.

Coinomi wallet it's working fine on my Samsung phone you might have an internet issue. I can make a transaction with a green dot under the BTC icon.

Try to resynchronize you can find it on 3 dots upper right corner. If it doesn't work you might have an internet issue.

Try to edit your wifi DNS to any of these below.
Code:
Google DNS
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

CloudFlare DNS
1.1.1.1
1.0.0.1

If still doesn't work try to connect on other wifi or in a different sim network.

You haven't lost your BTC if you still have your wallet recovery phrase. I have used Coinomi at one point but the problem with it at times is it takes so long to sync and you won't be able to access and spend your Bitcoins at that time.

Use much better wallets like electrum as suggested.

when you installed your wallet it asked you to write down a bunch of words known as seed. you can always use that to recover all your keys and spend your coins in any other wallet that accepts BIP32 seeds.

download electrum and verify its signature. install it and start a new wallet and enter the seed there in "i already have seed" then choose options and select the "BIP39 seed" check box.
if you go to your coinomi wallet and click on receive tab to see the address there is a derivation path below the address like M/84H/0H/0H/0/0.
you should also use this path for your key when you click next.
