Could be Ordinals and Runes as OmegaStarScream said, or it could just be the glacial pace that a large regulated exchange moves.
Or could be both.
They have always been slow to adopt new things, and when they do they only rarely at best mention why to the best of my memory.

I don't have the exact data but I think adoption of Taproot has been slow, so utilities like this will go a long way to improve awareness and also encourage more people to give it a try. The rune and ordinal spam will continue either way, so it really isn't a con.

Looking at how inconsistent the chart is, I would imagine this is also related to the mentioned protocols spam so I don't think we can consider this as good adoption just because the chart was looking good at some point.

Coinbase announced yesterday that you can now withdraw your funds to Taproot addresses[1]. If I had to guess, I would say they're mainly doing this because they have plans to start supporting tokens on the Ordinals and Runes protocols. But still, good to see.
