Electrum wallet is for Bitcoin.
Not necessarily true that electrum is only for bitcoin. You can use electrum for litecoin, you can use electrum for DeepOnion (learnt last week) and you can use electrum for any other coin which has the same algo as BTC. Electrum is open source and you can build electrum for any other coin which follow the same source as BTC.

I sent the bare minimum that coinbase allows to the Jaxx wallet. Waiting for that to process.

I've downloaded and logged into the android wallet but have yet to see my portfolio listed ie my account says "$0.00" in the wallet app.
Your Coinbase exchange account and your Coinbase wallet are two separate things.

Do I need to send it to the wallet?
If you want to move your coins from your Coinbase exchange account to your Coinbase wallet app, then yes, you need to make a transaction. You will need to obtain a receiving address from your wallet app, and then you will need to request a withdrawal from your exchange account to that receiving address.

I just don't want to go through the 'pins and needles' feeling that I lost my stuff.
Send a small amount first as a test transaction.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
How do I move assets between my Wallet and my Coinbase.com account?

Its an on-chain process which works same as any other transaction so you need to pay the miner fee.

Electrum can be used to store bitcoin but make sure you verify the signature is legit before moving funds from your coinbase.com account if you are not happy with coinbase or you can use multicrypto wallet like trust or coinomi which supports multiple coins and will let you to control your keys.

OP stop using coinbase wallet because you aren't fully in control of your wallet, are you given any keys when you open the coin base wallet? No I guess so the coinbase team are the one keeping your keys for you, better move to trust wallet

Did you fund your coinbase wallet? You only mentioned you downloaded the app and logged into an addriod coinbase.com app.

I am not using coinbase wallet, but you can copy the address and use it to send the fund.

Know that coinbase wallet that you are talking about is a custodial wallet, it will be better to make use of noncustodial wallet like electrum because you will be able to have complete control over your bitcoin.
Thanks. No, I guess I didn't fund it ha ha.

So in order to do that, I'd have to either manually enter my BTC or ETH address listed in coinbase dot com or send myself an email with it which I don't think is a good idea, right? How do people do it? Why is there no QRC codes to scan?

I've got Electrum and MyCrypto wallets installed and minimally tried to transfer but my first crypto experiences were a warning. I suppose sending tiny amounts is a safeguard but still those "gas prices" lol. I would prefer to get Electrum working because it's available for linux and I hope to have a dedicated machine with Parrot OS as my crypto machine for the future.

NB (me) bought some ETH and BTC about a week ago and nearly lost it all due to ineptitude/inexperience. Long story short, I wound up getting a coinbase account which is working well except for one problem so far.

I've downloaded and logged into the android wallet but have yet to see my portfolio listed ie my account says "$0.00" in the wallet app. The app is linked to the wallet according to the Third Party Apps settings in coinbase web page. It's been at least five days without showing. So how long should it take? Do I need to send it to the wallet? I looked into that but don't see a place in the app with a QRC scanner. Am I supposed to copy an address manually? I just don't want to go through the 'pins and needles' feeling that I lost my stuff. Thanks.
