High fees isn't problem of Coinbase. It's just adjusted to current network status. As you may have heard, there are lot of unconfirmed Bitcoin transactions currently and this is the reason why fees increased rapidly. Only some time ago I were able to send BTC from Coinbase with much smaller fee. If you don't have urgent reasons, now it's better to avoid sending Bitcoins if you want to avoid paying a high fee and waiting long time to get confirmations for transaction. Just wait until network status will become normal again. Then you will be able to send BTC from Coinbase (and others wallets, obviously) much cheaper.

Coinbase have a dynamic fee system in order to ensure that your transactions get confirmed in a fairly timely way.  It's not them that has high fees, it's the BTC network to have a transaction confirmed in the next few blocks.

I'm pretty sure you would be complaining even more if you sent transactions that never got confirmed or that took a very long time.
Just pay the right fee according to the current fee you can check the right fee here https://bitcoinfees.info/
I'm pretty sure you can't customise your fees with Coinbase.

That also doesn't appear to be a very good site.  A better website that shows you all the possible options is here.

Well 900satoshis/byte is really high right now, If he cannot customize the fee (Sorry I have not used Coinbase) in Coinbase then change your wallet where you can customize your fee like blockchain.info you can set any fee for your transaction.

Some dude on twitter posted this link which looks the job, but it's some way beyond my simple understanding so no verification on its practical use from me I'm afraid, but is this helpful: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Fee_bumping Bitcoin Fee Bumping page on wiki.
It's obvious that the bitcoin transaction fees are getting higher almost every time. I don't know how the general public will use bitcoin for day to day activities. Now, if you look at the bitcoin competition; bitcoin cash BCH transfer fees is around $0.03 (only 3 cents) and why would someone use bitcoin paying $10-$20 in transaction fee while there is another that accepts only $0.03 for transactions? We all want bitcoin to go mainstream here and to do so we should really fix this issue.

I made a transaction today and i discovered that the charges where more thank $5 per transaction is anyone using coinbase here? And what is your experience with them?
They are really dismal in light of the fact that SegWet2x crossed out how about we seek after them for the best up and coming since they are presently delivering retribution from clients. Be that as it may, don't stress you should need to hold your bitcoin and discharge them after some days then they cost may be less 0.08$.

Yes coinbase external transaction fee is very high . I am aware about that. But for coinbase to coinbase by email transaction is free. For me I don't like external Bitcoin transaction from my coinbase wallet. I like to use coinpayment wallet for low fee. You can try it

Not only at coinbase, the fees are too high every where. Since last few days the fees increased drastically. 5 US Dollars fee is very cheap really. I see people who are paying even 30 us dollars to get the transactions confirmed.

I stopped using coinbase due to their high fees. Also tend to change bitcoin to litecoin when transferring as it is cheaper.

BTC0.001 Satoshis in USD value in the past is different on what it is today, yes way than higher. So even, for let's say, they will still used BTC0.001 as transaction fees on your future transactions, the USD value of it will increase too. Same bitcoin quantity but different value. Honestly I considered that $5 as small fee compare to more than $10 on other exchanges.

If you are not comfortable with the Coinbase fees better explore other platforms that will fit your criteria.

I find coinbases charges somewhat fair your paying for a great service and an excellent support team. I think they are the best around and charge a little more because of it.

They're charging fees that are pretty typical of what is required for a "speedy" transaction on the blockchain right now. It's not something you can change because of the settings that coinbase has implemented (or lack thereof), if I remember the interface correctly.

If you want to have more control over the fees you incur, and have more freedom over your account in general, I would recommend looking into Blockchain.info as an online wallet you can use as an alternative.

I've ONLY used CoinBase and in my limited experience they've been very easy to use but transaction time and fees were a lot longer/higher than I had expected.

My last transaction, for an admittedly relatively low sum, took 5.5hrs which I thought was a long time until I saw that 55hrs mentioned above! There should be fair use/mining done on the transactions otherwise it's a poor service for us end users, however I appreciate that a miner would always go for the higher paying transaction and that's just the way it currently goes. Plus for BTC I think we are taking a batering from the movement of miners to Cash.

Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can go forwards again and let's hope that's the case here.

They are a nightmare. High fees, poor customer service and NYA signatories.

I had an issue with them back in July. My account still isn't back up yet. I've moved to Gemini to buy my BTC, then I just buy my other altcoins on exchanges.

Fees are high, in addition to this, transactions never get confirmed. My transaction has been wating for almost 55 hours and 0 confirmation was taken from the blockchain. This is not only in coinbase. It's the same if you send the bitcoin from blockchain.info wallet too. I don't know how to solve this really.
