I really did wonder why most people said this was a data base hack and request scam, But I have since found this:-

Quote
Our engineers are aware of this development and concluded that the released information was not acquired through a security breach in our systems. Instead, the poster was already in possession of your email address and used our "Request Money" functionality to obtain the name given to our system on the Settings page of your account (https://coinbase.com/settings).

So This explains why I received a e-mail as well, Having never used coinbase or ever inputing my e-mail on their site.

I have never used coinbase, Nor now shall I ever consider using them, How can they allow such a thing.

I got the same email. I don't use CoinBase either, but in there defense, I don't see how this is their fault. The most they could do is send out a mass email warning about the phishing scam. They can't really stop someone from sending fake emails.

That comment was my bad, I really did assume someone was using their mail server to send these out, I withdraw that statement, Thanks for pointing this out.

Thats alot of money LOL

This e-mail is the same one I use here, It is open, and not my personal e-mail address, It is 2PA protected and not on a computer with a wallet.dat or linked in anyway with other systems that are. For this reason alone!
