We do not charge a fee to receive and store digital currency, or accept merchant payments. Any transactions sent between Coinbase customers by email address take place off-chain (not on the blockchain) at no cost. Coinbase does not pay the network mining fee on behalf of customers for outgoing digital currency transactions. When buying or selling digital currency on Coinbase with a bank account or fiat wallet, the conversion fee will be displayed prior to confirming your order and will vary based on your location, payment method, and other criteria. If this did not resolve your issue, please respond to this email and one of our agents will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for using Coinbase!
You paid around 0.001BTC ? Thats about the average https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ in these congested network times.
The fee you paid is a miner's fee for the transaction between your Coinbase wallet and your Breadwallet.
The miner's fee is not related to how much BTC you send, it is based on the size of the transaction(inputs and outputs) in bytes.
You would probably have paid the same amount transaction fee even if you sent 10BTC.
