This is great news and a newsworthy milestone, definitely not off-topic, everyone should see it.  I'll make a thread in the press forum, feel free to do the same next time!
That username just scared the hell outta me

 Cheesy

A year or so ago, mostly due to laziness & privacy paranoia & the MtGox leak, I got into the habit of having my password manager generate (and autofill) not just random long passwords for each website, but also random long usernames.

I'll undoubtedly regret this methodology if I ever have to manually type or memorize any logins.  But hasn't been a problem so far, aside from the Bitcoin conference: whenever I wanted to tell anyone my username on this forum, I just couldn't remember it, and gave up on the time-consuming process of looking it up on the mobile phone.  Anyone who met me there could (I hope) certify I'm not scary in real life Wink

Didn't see this posted anywhere, but it's pretty cool.

Coinbase has been doing a crowdsourced investment round through FundersClub and raised almost $ 270,000 from individual FundersClub investors. Next to that they also raised an extra 300,000 from offline investors. That should be enough money to hire some great developers and security experts to expand their business forward (and maybe some designers).

And for the HackerNews discussion which isn't very lively yet:

Any people here using Coinbase seriously?
