Well it's been a good while now.
They have acknowledged they lost my deposit, acknowledged they mistakenly failed to refund me 1% of my larger deposit

They have now been ignoring my emails... for over a week.
I've been scammed.
Don't trust these guys.

I believe they have lost many peoples deposits over the years. They have been working in the industry for years and I have seen (mostly on reddit to be honest with you) that they have lost their money. Just go to reddit website, go to bitcoin subreddit and sort if from top of all time and you will see that there are many people who complain about coinbase not giving them their money back or freezing their account or not acknowledging the deposits of either bitcoin or fiat.

Basically, they are doing whatever they can to steal your money but they are not doing it to everyone, they are doing it to very few people because they do not want to get caught since that would be the end of their business, you can't do that frequently or people will suspect something is off.
If that is the case, then it is already become so glaring that they are stealing people’s fund and it is going to be a matter of time before people starts abandoning their services for more secured exchanges.

It can really be discouraging when you put your trust in some of these reputable exchanges and they ended up being the ones to be killing their users silently, the next thing you will see now is that they hacked them, and then shutting down. Sometime I feel some of these hacking is an internal thing which I suspect in the case of cryptopia just to run away with the remaining user’s money.

updated the original post.

TLDR - they refunded 99% of my deposit, now I'm still waiting for the other 1% and for support staff to do something about it. I also sent an additional 10$ (minimum) to see if it was a problem with the wallet. That's gone missing too...

And now they have not replied to any of my messages in about 48hours.

Did you carry out all procedures as normal, or did you do something different that may have affected your deposit?

I really don't get why Coinbase would have an issue in an apparently straightforward deposit in this case, and it's absurd that they would take such a long time in order to even respond to your ticket, let alone taking 5 days to refund a very simple transaction and not even get the job right.

This just seems really unprofessional, that a group of so called "specialists" at Coinbase can't even competently calculate a refund.

Either way, I've quit using coinbase long ago since I realized the risks of hosted wallets and essentially entrusting your private key to an unknown third party. Besides, their support has been historically a disappointing aspect of their service, and they haven't made much progress towards that at all, it seems.

For four days now. Coinbase have lost my deposit.
They've informed me that they are using a 'specialist' to locate it.

I sent one deposit, then another a few minutes later - both from the same account.
They lost the second one.
I Missed out on a great buy opportunity as a result.

And now they have not replied to any of my messages in about 48hours.

Any one else had similar issues? How long does it normally take Coinbase to sort stuff out....?
This is really annoying.

Update:  After about 5 days they refunded 99% of my deposit...
So now they are using a second 'specialist' to find out where the 1% has gone....
Never. Again. Will I use Coinbase.
First you need to completely confirm if they own up to the fact that it was indeed their system that lost your coin, because it could be other possible things too like hackers having access to your account and a script from hacker also redirecting your transactions to other addresses.

If you have contacted them, which I believe they will answer in due time, take some other precautionary methods, try as much as possible to first of all secure your account with stronger password and ensure that your system is clean of malwares. I have never experienced this with coin base and I believe they will resolve it soon.

If the lost funds sent outside from coinbase there is no other way to retrieve them back unless if there is a problem about coinbase or bugs the same happen to me that my deposit coins have gone but after checking my Coinbase address to explorer the balance is still there. So I believe that there is a glitch on Coinbase dashboard I reported it to coinbase but it takes a week before they solve my issue.

So don't worry about your lost funds if your coins still in your Bitcoin address. If you don't mind post your Coinbase bitcoin address here so that we can check if your bitcoin still there or totally gone.

A specialist to locate your deposit? Check the block explorer if your transaction is confirmed, make a screenshot with your deposit address on coinbase and a screenshot of the block explorer with the confirmed transaction and send it to the support. Don't wait for their "specialist" to do anything... send them facts and tellem to fix their shit.

I'm pretty sure the Coinbase employees knows how to do that. The "specialist" is most likely to be able to retrieve the funds rather than to confirm if the funds were actually sent and received.
It all it takes on where those funds being sent.Further investigation would really be needed but I would tell that this is just a
small issue and can really be solved out.Just have patience OP on waiting up for their reply and hope your issue would be resolved soon.

Can you write something which can be understandable,I don't get anything clearly from the above statements.

If your transactions doesn't show up on the balance firsy check the status of your transaction whether it is confirmed or not then if it confirmed but still not available on balance there maybe an update error try to force stop your app then comeback again to see if it is there.

Nothing happens means the only way is contacting their support team.

I think this is a small mistake from Coinbase and you should contact them as soon as possible to fix this. I think your case is very rare and this may be Coinbase error. Now keep in touch with them via Email and you will soon get better results because I have also encountered a case related to withdrawals and it took more than 1 week for them to settle for me so please wait until they support you about this
