Wait until you try to get your BTC out of coinbase and it takes 24-72 hours. It's worse than fiat.

I tried and my BTC showed up instantly.

coinbase has become pretty useless as of late. no chance to buy out dips like today, in fact have not been able to buy a single coin for last three days...

must wait for mtgox to complete US launch with coinlab to have a method of quickly buying coins again... and it started so well.

The only way, hold money on exchange. :-) It is almost same, keep fiat in bank or keep fiat in other bank (btc exchange account).

Just wait till this shit tops and people get the sold out of USD message.  I can already hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Registered with them but received the sold out message (had figured it was an ongoing problem though).  At least I can try again that way in the future.

Oh well, Bitinstant might be a bit odd to work through but given an hour or three, I had money show up from two transactions just fine.

I've used Coinbase and haven't had any serious problems.  Coinbase isn't really for trading, more to just to grab some coins close to the current price and not stress about it.  Once I send my buy order, it takes about ~2 days before it posts in my bank.  Then another ~2 days before the coins appear in my Coinbase account.

Last time I purchased, I did get "Sorry, the maximum number of purchases on Coinbase has been reached at the moment. This is a 24 hour rolling limit with no specific start time. Please try again later. We'll continue raising this limit over time." but then tried again 30 minutes later and it worked.

Other than that, Coinbase has been perfect for my needs (keeping me from panic buying).  It's like buying Bitcoin without caffeine.

I have been trying to buy for two days - day and night a few times an hour throughout those times with no luck. ALso tried to send my balance to another wallet because they are useless right now and it never made it. Balance is back in my account but send transaction is still pending. Big time fail. They were not prepare for growth and this is the second time in as many months where I needed to make transactions but they were crashed. Not reliable at all in my book. When they are functioning again I will try to get my remaining BTC out! It is like the bank freezing your account, or gee like Cyprus closing the banks..

I bought some coinage yesterday.

I find that if I just spam the buy button semi-regularly I get the opportunity to by within a few mins.

I'm having a different problem with them. They did some server maintenance today and now transactions from my coinbase wallet aren't showing up in the blockchain. At least it's auditable, so I can prove to them they haven't sent it yet.

I'm having the same issue - I sent a chunk of BTC to Mt. Gox on 3/20 and have yet to see it hit the blockchain. Not terribly thrilled about it, especially with the lack of any acknowledgement to my help ticket.

Thankfully they have a good rep so I imagine it's just a matter of time before things are sorted.

Better be.

I haven't been able to buy for the last two days on coinbase. I am no longer relying on it.

First time I saw this happen, and I buy with them regularly. Seems they have an USD limit they are willing to process per day, and it has been hit today:

"Sorry, the maximum number of purchases on Coinbase has been reached at the moment. This is a 24 hour rolling limit with no specific start time. Please try again later. We'll continue raising this limit over time."

Yea, you really do have to check randomly throughout the day to find a time to buy them.  I missed out yesterday though. Went to buy a bit and it started the process, but decided to go back and up the coinage a bit but as I did that they maxed out.  Haven't been able to get through since.

Huh, I'm surprised you never ran into it before. I spent last night sleeping in shifts so that I could wake up and see if their coins were back in stock. They couldn't have been available for more than 3 or 4 hours last night.

I'm having a different problem with them. They did some server maintenance today and now transactions from my coinbase wallet aren't showing up in the blockchain. At least it's auditable, so I can prove to them they haven't sent it yet.

It's a good service, but they haven't figured out how to keep up with demand yet.

I see, then probably I was lucky buying during a window of opportunity before, because that's the first time it happened here...
