I think this can revolutionize bitcoin.

When you look at little villages in india for exampe, where some have developped their own currency because of the instability of the Rupee, they all have mobile phones, but not smart phones or computers.

When I set up a pin, enter in a pin, and click 'Save Changes', it says "SMS disabled!" at the top. What gives?

Did you enter in a pin, or did you just click save? If you don't enter a pin, it shows the greyed out "123456" as a placeholder. When you click save without entering a pin, it won't enable SMS. Try again?

I've entered a pin, I know that. The digits show up, not the greyed out place holder numbers. It's says "SMS disabled!" after hitting submit. Tried on both Safari and Chrome. I'm using a MBA.

I'm guessing you are using a non-numerical pin. Please only use numbers. I will update the error message.

Actually, I figured it out. PM'd you the error.

Glad you guys like it. This is what I worked on in the past few weeks.

We definitely want to try to create an SMS-only interface. So you can receive bitcoins via SMS and then sign up for an account with SMS.
Yes, do this! I hope it takes off in a similar fashion as the bitcointip bot in reddit.

BTW, what countries are supported now and in the near future?

Right now, only the US. Though if you send us a text to the US number, it will work. But the voice call won't. So you can check your balances and request bitcoins but can't send, buy, or sell. We are working on adding local SMS numbers and international voice calls.

Cool feature, though it would be really great if they could work on support staff response time.

It is a good idea. To increase the acceptance of Bitcoin is important keep building its “users” infrastructures.

Why SMS and not just a dedicated iOS and Android app?  Maybe i'm naive about the approval process but it seems that hardly any Bitcoin apps show up on iOS.
All cell phones can text while not all cell phones run iOS or Android. The other advantage is that no app has to be downloaded.

Apps for iOS are to get approved. They don't like Bitcoin it appears. Blockchain.info app is basically a web browser so it could be approved.

I think it's really cool.

I can't wait till all a person needs to deal with BTC is a cell phone by texting to move the funds around. And anyone that doesn't have an account just texts to create one.

I'm watching this very carefully. It could be a killer app!
