I'm trying to recover my girlfriend's account on Coinbase (Yeah, who could ever imagine that) but with no success though. She doesn't remember the password and the recovery email won't come through.
I also support @Coolcryptovator with what he said. You may need to search for the email again.
In general, unless you blacklist coinbase support eamil (or your ISP does,) the email you are trying to retrieve is not linked to your account.
Waiting for a response from the support team is the only thing we can tell you to do.
I will reach them by social media and/or Reddit. Haven't received a response by email yet. Thus, I'll have to reach them by other means. I'm sure that the email is correct because we've found other emails from Coinbase about news, updates and even a deposit made into the account.

You may get the faster solution if you try to contact them via twitter but since its just few days then you need to calm down a bit, even I waited weeks to get an automated reply from coinbase and also many of my tickets were unanswered by them so just wait for some to take your case it certainly needs time.
I don't think that will have a guarantee to get a faster solution to his problem, it seems right now the Coinbase and Coinbase pro was busy upgrading their system and we hope they will include their poor customer support, it's 12 hours ago they announced of having an upgrade of their system and it is supposedly today.

People who had issues for months resolved when they try to give more pressure on their social media channels because admin of those accounts are real person so they can see your issue if it gets more attention from the other users so they will pass this to their customer support directly so it may get priority or atleast the visibility to the real person who is in customer support.

Reset it from a device you have previously used to access Coinbase.
Reset it from a location (IP address) you've previously used to access Coinbase."

The first one is probably the reason you're still receiving it, despite using Tor.
Probably you are right, but not sure. Because I had tried resetting the password from a new device that hadn't been used for my coinbase account ever. So surprisingly I received the recovery mail. Just imagine someone lost his device, so how the recovery system would work for him. As you know Tor browser always changes your IP every time you open it, where also password recovery working fine for me.

However, try from your ends, there would be something wrong. Continue to communicate with the support, hope you will able to recover the funds.

It's a well-known exchange that they had poor customer supports, even on their down detector status, there are too many concerns and that's all related to a longer response by the support, I saw there it's almost a month of waiting but they don't have any clues or sign from that exchange if their problem will solve.

Just keep in touch with them, if you get lucky, they might be heard you.  For now, just sit and relax while waiting for response.

After some research, the password recovery email won't be delivered if you are making a request from an unauthorized IP.
Wrong information. I have tried resetting my coinbase account now from Tor, the new device, and the incognito tab, and got reset links instantly. Do you believe my Tor IP was authorized where I never used my coinbase account on the Tor browser? Even I use it's not possible authorized because IP always has been changing where you open a browser every time.

So I believe there is something wrong. Most probably your girlfriend forgot which mail was used to register a coinbase account. Even you submit a random email during the recovery account the message will be the same as this that they will send a recovery link if there is an account that belongs to that email.

Try with other emails if she has, authorized IP doesn't matter since I can receive reset links via Tor browser.
I don't think that's the case, that was their first reply too, I doubt that their reply is inaccurate. It might be in cases the account has shown a large period of inactivity, thus, the email won't come through for safety reasons. Quoting from their website "If you are having trouble resetting your password, you will need to:

Reset it from a device you have previously used to access Coinbase.
Reset it from a location (IP address) you've previously used to access Coinbase."

The first one is probably the reason you're still receiving it, despite using Tor.

I will try contacting them again. via Twitter or Reddit too.

The problem with almost all crypto related services is that they do not invest enough in customer support, and since they often go offline at a time when we have very pronounced price jumps, says that the profit obviously goes elsewhere. If you have a large influx of new users who obviously need support, then the thing is simple - hire more people who will allow everyone to get an answer in a timely manner.

Your problem is easy to solve, but it's more than obvious that there's no one to solve it - most only get a generic email and that's it. I hope you have better luck, but I suggest you don't wait with an inquiry via Twitter or Reddit - it doesn't hurt to try to speed things up like that.

Thanks for the replies, I'll just wait I guess. However, the first email was never answered, and it frustrated me. I am now waiting for them to reply on the second email. I'll try hitting them up on Twitter or Reddit if they don't respond within the next few days.

The last 24 hours Coinbase problem shows here.

source:

It seems they face a lot of different problems every day and I tend to agree with the comments above, you need to wait for the response of Coinbase.

In Reddit, they had also support but I don't know how often active they are on that platform.

Does anyone have similar experiences? How long did they take to respond? Should I doubt if they even respond?
I haven't used their support before, but I have seen complaints similar to yours about how slow their support is especially recently. When you check their support page, there's even a notice at the top informing you that they are experiencing an increase in inquiries, so support will be slow in responding.

So I guess you will have no choice but wait until they respond to your ticket.

Yeah, it can take days. With the price of ATH BTC over the last few weeks it seems to be getting worse.

Although they say they will not respond to twitter, poking Brian Armstrong on twitter has been known to help now and then. https://twitter.com/brian_armstrong
Also poke their twitter account. https://twitter.com/Coinbase
Does not always work, but it does at times. Guess it depends on who is monitoring their feed that day.

Are you US based or elsewhere?
What email service are you using, did you check the spam / junk folder? Have seen some things go there because they mention crypto Sad

I've emailed them, which I received an automated response which lead to nothing. I've now sent them a second email and still waiting for a response. Five days have passed already with no response.

Does anyone have similar experiences? How long did they take to respond? Should I doubt if they even respond?
