Coinbase will certainly have ERC-20 support because it has acquired earn.com. And Earn.com allows users to receive ERC-20 token airdrops. As for that email, it is a phishing email. Avoid clicking links from the emails. If you receive any email about new feature or offer, then simply go to that site via address bar and not by clicking the email links. You will stay safe.

Of course it is a SCAM mail. Just see that it was sent from coinbase.coml (notice the l at the end). Not an official address. But you should also read through the content. ERC-20 tokens cannot be "imported". They can be sent from one wallet to another. The scam is clear, they just ask for your private key for sure to "import" your tokens and by giving that away, you are giving the access to all your funds.

You should NEVER leave your coins and alts in Coinbase. Because you don't control the private keys, they do. And this is one of the biggest risks in crypto. ALWAYS control your private keys, and your funds.

Scam email from 'fake Coinbase' - no one is ever going to ask for your private key. Although Coinbase did announce ERC-20 support some time ago, it's not out there yet. Be careful,

Ive also heard rumours that they are going to accept ERC20 tokens, but i have no idea as of how far they are in inplementing it. But their coders seem to be very slow, atleast when it came to segwit adoption, so my guess is ERC20 tokens will take about 370 years to implement.
