The ERC20 tokens are the ones which are usually used by day trader due to their high volatility and drastic fluctuations which means those are the tokens which will always have high demand in the market.
Now that Coinbase has accepted most ERC20 tokens to be available to be traded at the exchange platform that will attract most of the traders towards them and bringing it closer to greater milestones making it the choice of most of the traders.

ERC20 tokens shouldn't be overlooked. Many of these projects received large amounts of money during their ICO's. They have the funds to develop and market the project for many years. It'll be about time that Coinbase adds some ERC20 tokens to their platform.

Good move on Coinbase's side. Supporting ERC20 tokens is something every decent exchange and wallet should provide imo. It is profitable for them in the first place but also convenient for their customers.
While reading news on the subject I came across this Scam Alert (in the link below) which I think might be useful for some people. Never ever post your login info and especially private keys on any site however credible they might appear.

It will be even better if coinbase also opens their services besides USA, erc20 will become more popular with this news and ETH will be a potential alternative after Bitcoin.
Yes they seem to be giving some important steps toward ERC20 tokens adoption, but I don't think they will start be listing them right now. Maybe they just want be prepared in case a very good token shows up and they don't need to rush things in order to list the token. They already said they will probably list a new coin during this year, and with these moves they will be able to list anything.
I still don't see them listing anything that doesn't have a decent trading volume, but if we consider that EOS and Tron have a bigger volume that bitcoin cash for example, then it probably makes sense that they are starting to take tokens more seriously.
