Thank you, in this case if they do not add support for the previous/upcoming coins you are actually losing them. Good to know, maybe they have to note this somewhere so people can be informed.

Yes that was exactly what i told you, if they support a new fork or just another update, they will let you know by email.

Just like it happened with bticoin gold, they supported it, and one day before it, they sent an email to all coinbase users that they were going to give out bitcoin goldies to all bitcoin holders.

And that is how it works, they are the only ones to decide which coin are they going to support or not

But you are right, they could have a note in there, but it is coinbase.. people will still be using this wallet because it is the more easy to use, and the most famous one

Oh they did, far and wide.

Even with the Bitcoin Cash hardfork they told people over and over again that they would not support it and that people should withdraw their coins from Coinbase, should they choose to split their holdings. Alas many people completely ignored Coinbase's announcement, only to accuse Coinbase of thievery despite the exchange acting exactly as advertised, forcing Coinbase to offer eventual BCH support.

Never assume an exchange will provide you with fork coins, especially if they explicitly state that they won't do so. Anyone can hardfork Bitcoin, it's not an exchange's duty to extend their platform each time a new alt enters the market place.

Yes you are losing them and they could take them from your address and spend themselves, although this would be theft, but you wouldn't know anyway since your deposit address isn't the one they're storing the money on. If you want to claim forked coins it's best to keep BTC in one of the popular desktop wallets like Electrum.

Hello people. I need some information. Till now Coinbase do not support any of the new coins but working on the support of Bitcoin cash for 1 of January 2018. Is there a way to get the other coins from the previous or upcoming forks?

No, you don't have access to your private key for your coinbase account. So you can't claim previous forked coins from coinbase. However, coinbase initially thought of supporting the B2X fork which didn't take place and postponed for an infinite time. But they didn't support any other previous fork. However, I am not sure about the future forks. You may be receiving an email from coinbase about their updates and you will come to know from those update email if they are going to support any further forks.

No, because you were holding your bitcoins on coinbase, it is a third party wallet, an exchange, there is no way that you can have your private key, and you need the Priv K in order to claim your forked coins.

The only "exchange" who is giving out forked coins at the moment is only Binance, and the most safest ways to store your coins to receive those coins.

Dont even hesitate to put your funds on one of those random wallets that the dev's of the forks are giving to you, how are you supposed to know if they are scam or not?
