I do not think they would be able to do this. Especially in the light of G20 current regulatory status - where any ICOs in United States  are prohibited...

Coinbase doesn't deal in ICOs though. They only trade traditional cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum.

Really good news that the partnership between Coinbase and Trading Technologies will provide essential trading and hedging tools across the market. Institutional investors are basically bigger than the current ‘whales’ in the cryptocurrency markets, everything is going to boom for crypto holders.

A nice idea, though quite unsure whether this would fuel the price for a push given that Wall Street's involvement with crypto is already there, we just don't know how "involved" these institutional investors are or whether they'd be interested to get involved deeper. Linking the money of Wall Street to crypto means that the government would surely make some regulations to benefit their end; definite taxation rules regarding crypto would just linger around the corner, and the crypto market would 'mature' since it would be highly regulated in case Wall Street dived into it fully.

I do not think they would be able to do this. Especially in the light of G20 current regulatory status - where any ICOs in United States  are prohibited...

I think this would be a different scheme, or could just be another exchange or another broker which would just make things for these institutional investors easier to put their money on the crypto market.

It`s looks like a promising partnership, but that doesn`t mean that cryptocurrency trading will be accepted by Wall Street. You title is a bit misleading,OP.Bringing more institutional investors into the cryptocurrency market will make the crypto prices to skyrocket, but i`m not so sure that the US authorities will allow more institutional investors to diversify their portfolios with cryptocurrencies.

It is possible but for sure their will be more regulations that will be implemented. If coinbase reached the wallstreet, it would be good and bad. Good because the price will skyrocket, Bad because we will see more a lot of manipulations.

This new system will make it easier for the professionals to invest into the cryptocurrencies. Wall Street has already made some standards and with the popularity of the crypto around the world Coinbase is making the fantastic move. Even those that ain't still acquainted with the benefits of the cryptos will probably learn more now because Wall Street presents the opportunity for all. This will probably start the arbitrage between Bitcoin and the future contracts that will be benefiting for all who are recognizing this great move. Great news indeed and I'm a glad that the government and the higher authority that are controlling the centralized institutions are finally adopting the new technology that the cryptos had brought.
