When buying bitcoin in Coinbase usually it could process in a typically take 3-5 successive business days means Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, maybe OP bought bitcoin in a weekend or it is having holidays so it takes a longer time of processing procedure. Because banks also operate transactions only on business days. However, Coinbase is only focused on selling transactions to have to be quicked services because that was easy for them and no need for Bank account transactions not like when you are purchasing bitcoin.

I found the reference here from Coinbase support please read: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1392022-why-does-a-buy-take-so-long-

Coinbase is riddled with red tape and KYC/AML regulation, so waiting times are inevitable if you consider how much checking and validation must be done behind the scenes. They might say 12 days, but it could take a lot quicker, so they leave room for delays.

They handle a very large amount of buy orders and they are doing this with a small amount of people on the backend, so they will rather give the maximum "wait" time, to reduce the queries if the order takes a lot of time.   Roll Eyes

I would not be too worried about the amount of time that are stipulated in the notification.  Wink

Why even waste time with Coinbase when we have peer to peer bitcoin purchasing websites with good reputation like Localbitcoins.
Any particular reason why you are using coinbase?

There is this particular Peer to Peer service that caught my attention too... You buy cryptos through national fiat currencies but there is no need to register or log in
It's the https://bisq.network but it isn't popular yet.

Same exact amount buyed so why differing waiting Times??

You should contact technical support to understand what is going on
or send your inquiry via Telegram because the duration is really long
you can also have to follow the deals on their site.

If you buy bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency and you are paying with a credit/debit card your transaction will be instant and in a matter of seconds you should receive your cryptocurrencies in your wallet. On the other hand if you make a purchase and you pay using a bank transfer your transaction will be completed in 3-5 working days(Monday-Friday) because Coinbase has to wait until the transaction is confirmed by the bank.
By the way all this information is listed on their website so you might want to go there an take a look if you need more help.

Let's just consider this ;

A man is selling apples but he is buying that from a farmer.
So the apples he sells depends on the farmer , he needs to buy from the farmer and sell it to the customer.

Now the coinbase needs to wait for someone to sell them Bitcoins so that they can transfer that to your account and the time they gave you is a computer generated approximate time that it generally takes.

This is what I think.
Since the demand is high at the moment , people are buying every second thus it's harder for them to get hands on Bitcoins.

Try buying from local Bitcoins or from someone else like a person to person transaction.
