Coinbase used to go down before too during huge price pump and dump, price has pumped by over 20% in one day which is quite remarkable and many might want to get into bitcoin boat before it will be too late for them to make an entry.

Coinbase might sell/buy coins from the market themselves during this downtime, they are not reliable exchanger but they are taking the benefit of being one of its kind.  Sad
Maybe it'll be a good idea if we trade depend on Coinbase. LOL. We just need send our Bitcoin to other exchanges like poloniex or Bittrex and care about when will Coinbase down again and it'll be the best time for us to sell our Bitcoin for USDT then wait a little bit to buy back with lower price. Smiley). I think it'll work. LOL

Wierd but in their website according to their status its operational https://status.coinbase.com/
But when accessing their homepage down this is always happening everytime the price increased a lot they are just preventing people to sell their bitcoin
And i don't think they are preventing people to buy bitcoin. they are just let people not sell bitcoin so that the price of bitcoin can be increase more But according to status they are having a big traffic according to their pass incident logs...Looks like more people right now are interested in bitcoin...
Hope that they can solve the issue and we will see if more buying will come or huge price drop will happen..
I have seen its operation on Website the same on Mobile too which I did try to use up mobile APP of coinbase but it seems they are still down since it do shows it couldn't sync any transactions which means they are still on disable mode. Don't know whats the reason behind but this is just a normal maintenance specially on high traffic,we don't even know if its due to high traffic of buyers or sellers? Grin They are might preventing it but who knows.

Every time we see surprises in bitcoin price, coinbase immediately closes their services and "blocks" the sell/buy orders in order to win/profit and not lose the money by selling their cash to their customers for bitcoins and affecting the overall bitcoin price.

That's why it is highly recommended to use hardware or desktop wallets where you have 100% control over your funds by having the private key and you don't have to wait for others or worried about coinbase servers!!!

When I go to coinbase.com, the web site says:

SERVICE UNAVAILABLE

Coinbase is currently down for maintenance. Please try again later or see our status page for more information.

So I go to their status page, and there's nothing there about the whole site being down. Are other people seeing the same?

Worries me when I have these issues, and it seems nobody else is. Starting to suspect spyware / malware on my computer. Maybe I'm just turning paranoid...
They already stated below that they are aware of the issue and it will be return to the live with in some hours this how stated in their site. Moreover this is not first time they do this. Within last month to now itself site is under maintenance multiple times. It is almost around 3 times they have done the maintenance for users to use their funds.
You might noticed forum and other some bitcoin related sites are not stopped for some while. I think that issue is something bigger.

I think at the moment Coinbase is down for all country. This case always happen when Bitcoin price reach to a new peak cause a lot of Bitcoin holders are trying to sell Bitcoin at the peak and wait for a big dump after that. LOL. I think we just need to wait a little bit more.

Its to prevent their users to sell their funds on coinbase so they can't control those funds on their behalf and they will just published that they have maintenance for something lol.

I'm seeing the same so it's not only you. Also, it has nothing to do with your pc or malware/spyware. Just check back again later to see wether they finished the maintenance. Btw, they updated their status page with High traffic issue:

Investigating - We are currently experiencing high traffic. This is resulting in some customers having slow performance or issues logging into their Coinbase.com accounts. We are actively working on resolving this.
