At one time they wanted to sell me the domain name for USD 5k - imagine they are not doing too well financially.

I ran a check for estimated worth, one site says around $900 while another says around $500.
And they wanted 5 grand. Wow.

Also, the only way they're gaining revenue is from google Adsense and that's not even $10/day. No way can they continuously afford to pay everyone out. Their Alexa Rank is over 900k.
They will surely fall down because they cant able to sustain the payouts and they are just like giving free money and they are earning less than to their gains which is really like a suicide. They are not actually doing too well same as other member said.

They site is already dead, surely they can't pay.
They have been here few years ago, also using avatar campaign for promote. I also ever there, but looks spammy and I don't know where are they earn profit.

Another period of excuses, vague references to "what this site isn't: A Faucet" and now it's completely down....

Glad I never actually put money in to it....

I saw this coming. Keep in mind TF ran it the first time and unexpectedly shut it down, so it was just a matter of time. The site isn't profitable. It can only pay out so much.

Hmm, when I knew that coinchat.org, it was a little community of friends chat. It was very internal between them, and few peoples were online. Maybe it growed too much and they didn't have conditions to continue paying people for chat...

But I agree with you, if they don't have conditions to pay anymore, better to change the site rules and tell the true to users.

Haven't been on the site in a while, but with the price spike, wanted to see how things were going. The policies have changed dramatically though. Seems a bit more open for discussion, but the fees to take out funds are now Min 0,2 mBTC + 3%, min 2 mBTC. Supposedly to be transferred on Sundays, but you have to notify mods to nudge the process.

Now it may seem this is for security purposes, but after a few weeks, funds still have not been withdrawn or returned to the wallet. Worse yet is other users have claimed they've been waiting for a month for their funds. If the site will not pay out, they should stop claiming to do so. I do enjoy the discussions and don't need pennies for shooting the breeze with people online, but the fact that a site has failed to fulfill it's main purpose is what is a bit disheartening.

There have been numerous incarnations of the site and many changes, but I think this may finally be the last nail in the coffin of the internet's premier chat for coin "community".

RIP Coinchat
