Looks like for the first year, they are only targeting a few countries. Should expand to other countries next year hopefully.
It's been going since 2013, but only spread to multiple cities in 2014, and didn't leave Canada until this year.We don't really "target" countries, though. CoinFest pops up wherever someone is willing to join us. If you want to see it in Asia, you could find a Bitcoin venue and host a CoinFest event, yourself--such is the open source movement
