The hidden gem thing is a sneaky description that could be bought by people who don't do research. I won't be buying things that I've seen and being directed me to do.
And thanks to these folks that we have, they have valid points that vote can be manipulated.
I think this information needs to be treated with great care as Coinmarketcap can actually be a very good manipulation tool. In addition, until recently, users very often reproached the CMC for providing false information to users. Of course, after the start of cooperation with Binance, this situation may have changed.

CoinMarketCap shows many coins and tokens, and I am sure that some of them are hidden gems. Which ones are hidden
gems are on us to find them!
I never heard about Lamden, and I can't say it is something good or bad. I assume each of has a right to believe in any
project. I will check this Lamden to see what they have to offer and then I will have my own opinion about this project.

Lamden is old project that was launch about 3 years ago , they have announcement threads on this forum has rank 604 on coinmarketcaps with over 60k$ volume trade per day, so far ive been see that lamden is trade Bilaxy and HitBTC.

you could see thier announcement threads that was made on 2017 here :

If you see the description is the trending system was based on
Quote
With most vote and view in the last 24 HOUR
This system still could be easy to be manipulated for some project, they just can offer the community with a small tip to view their project and vote them to be on the trending board. This option was not a good option to be used to make some investment.

I have been visiting coinMarketCal and for several years I noticed not all of their announcement are good, but I guess the majority of it are real. Seeing on this Lamden there is only 33% confidence over 800 plus votes, but votes can be manipulated too. I will not buy for now but I will be watching it, Just found their source code on github https://github.com/Lamden/

you're right, vote could be manipulated if the coin developers wish to pay for who voted on their announcement on CoinmarketCal, its would be good for us doing own research before deciding invest or not, not all review are accurated to make the project really success.

33% confidence is still low. It means, users don't have the strong faith on this project at the moment. But let's see if it will change over time. And follow if they will be having good development updates from their side. Hidden gem or not, it is always better to dig more about the project. One can always say that a project is a hidden gem but without supporting facts, don't believe right away.
Yeah, it is pretty low, even it is higher I will not jump into it without a proper review and finding facts. Coinmarketcal is like a ratings site, some ratings site are manipulated by projects, they are buying some reviews to make it look good, I am not a fan of those sites and coinmarketcal are base on votes which is pretty the same. Always DYOR, we should not believe on what is anyone is saying right away.

Probably more than 50% are manipulated news. Though some of them are really hidden gems, its still worth investing your time on DYOR.

I would rather go check all these top 30 coins in coinmarketcap and see if they're developing a new coin underneath it. An example is Symbol from NEM, since their predecessor is successful, they will most likely be the same thing.

I just noticed this on coinMarketCal: https://coinmarketcal.com/en/event/mainnet-launch-39667

When I go to the homepage it is the top trending item: https://coinmarketcal.com/en/

I checked the website (lamden.io). Devs build in python instead of solidity. I am betting that the next wave of AMPL/XAMP will be on Lamden because it is easier to create on Lamden than ethereum.

Moonbois don't know about bitcointalk or CMC.
You have info before them.
You're welcome.
