Coinmarketcap still lives from its former fame. WordCoinindex is the best and most advanced market cap site at the moment.

You know there are alternatives. Besides marketcap is a totally meaningless figure

I doubt that they are corrupt, but it wouldn't surprise me if paying a fee got a coin special treatment. I have no reason to believe that they charge "special fees", but I do know that fees ( what some would call bribery ) is rampant among "respectable" websites in the crypto world.

Coinmarketcap is a decent site... you just have completely ignore the market cap figure. Not because of the site but because that is a completely meaningless number in crypto. Sort coins by liquidity (24h volume) to see what's what. Although it would be nice if we had liquidity figures for longer periods of time.

The guys who made that coin premined it then had the site coinmarketcap promise (in advance / before launch)
that they would add the coin with premined coins considered as part of the "Cap"

That is how it should work; all coins premined/mined/ico/swapped/whatever should be part of the cap, because they are available, exchangeable coins even if a dev swears he won't touch the premine.

i have heard that their data is not completely accurate but who would check the price at coinmarketcap?!!! and be affected by the result.
everyone checks it at their exchanger not coinmarketcap. and i don't really understand how it can hold coins back from going up!!

I don't know but something tells me coinmarketcap is a shitty worthless website, holding coins back from going up, imo many coins should be above that shitcoin what Litecoin is.

further more Market Cap data was rendered useless and corrupt loooooooong ago !
I by myself I might add forced some of the people involved with that scammy bullshit to *revise their methods.
they mouthed me off and fought me then did a 180 and admitted  I was 1,000% correct.
AUR coin was a the tipping point where I had enough..
The guys who made that coin premined it then had the site coinmarketcap promise (in advance / before launch)
that they would add the coin with premined coins considered as part of the "Cap"
and I know this because I got the info ahead of time from a guy who was selling the advance release info to you all.
so I seen it coming and caught them red handed and still have the time stamped messages etc.
anyway that one stunt was disgusting but it become a trend.. especially when idiots here bought in, raising AUR to $14 a coin on cryptsy.
that got the coin cloning weazles foaming at the mouth (and exchanges)

so uhhh Market Cap ? puuuuuuuuuuuhlease LOL
worthless data period .

EDIT:
By the way.. it is because of me that Coinmarketcap (the web site)
uses asterisks besides coins now. to my shock not even one single solitary one of you were bothered by what they were doing.
And when I brought it up.. not 1 of you agreed with me either.
Yet again it's up to me to kick some ass and police this crap while ALL of you hide silently in the corner (trying to make money off any IPO shenanigans you all can)
