I would love to go to this. However after seeing the price for tickets is a total joke. other parties £900 GBP for a 2 day event. Ill go spend that on a  2 week vacation than this. I would of come to the event providing it might of been £100 or so but  £400 to £900 is a total rip off.

CoinSummit Application
Our focus at CoinSummit is quality, not quantity. We aim to create a high quality forum for entrepreneurs and investors in the crypto currency industry to discuss current challenges and opportunities. We have a limited ticket allocation available for our upcoming event in London and will prioritise those for former attendees, recommended colleagues/acquaintances of confirmed attendees and selected members of the media. Earlybird tickets for the two day event are GBP 450+20% VAT for pre-series A entrepreneurs and GBP 900+20% VAT for all others. Earlybird tickets will be available until the 15th of June 2014.

I wonder how many are actually going to pay this for such an event. Even going to massive events like o2 arena only costs like £50 and that's for a big concert or music event. Why on earth they charging so much. Does one get that back in Bitcoin lol.

There is a ridiculous amount of action going on in London.  As of May 30th, the city will have the most bitcoin ATM's in the world, and these conferences are coming up:

2014-05-27  Digital Money 2014
2014-06-11  PayExpo
2014-06-18  Boatcoin Expo
2014-07-01  WIRED Money
2014-07-10 CoinSummit
2014-09-15  Inside Bitcoins

The best place to do currency conversion is at Thomas Exchange on Maddox Street in Mayfair.   They are (as of June 4th) buying USD at 171.6 when the spot rate is 167.48, for a conversion cost of under 2.5%.  If you convert over £5,000 the rate dips to 1.5%.  Everywhere else is a complete rip off.

Private car service Wheely used to accept bitcoin, but recently removed the option.  Uber works, but it is barely any faster and way more expensive than the underground.

Unfortunately, the UK is not supported yet for mobile phone top up at piiko.com, but perhaps by the time the conference rolls around they will be added to the 100+ countries supported.

The best way to avoid getting killed on roaming charges while you're here is to order a prepaid UK SIM card to your house before you come, and pop it into your phone once you get here.  You can add credit on them easily.  Examples:

The digital currency world will be trekking to London this summer for the second CoinSummit of the year and third overall. The previous CoinSummit convention was held in March in San Francisco and featured a plethora of speeches and panel discussions from leading cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, VC and angel investors, hedge fund professionals, and bitcoin enthusiasts. The London convention will feature nothing less.
