You may want to reconsider a refund. With cheap BTC at the moment you can buy more bitcoins than you'll ever mine with these pieces of crap.

I'm an early Jan owner, got mine end of Feb. Already had to RMA it because I lost 1/2 the processors. I've made a whopping 5 btc

Refund requested today - kinda sad but cant be too emotional when on the path to ruin

I received my IV and I have been really happy with it.  It doesn't hash as fast as advertised, but I am sure firmware will sort that out.  As far as hardware quality goes... no complaints at all.

I should note that I haven't had to use their customer service at all, to this point.

CT: please switch to our January batch at half the price (3$/GH)
HF: we are still on track with the December delivery you agreed upon in August, it wasn't October that you read on our website, you are either stupid or blind, so shut up.

I'm not sure to understand what you are writing. Would you mind to repeat that once more for me please?

Sure Davie, no problem.

hope you guys aren't falling for all this 'more senior level'  'personally take a look into the matter' absolute bs corpcrap speak

they don't even have a product and they are talking about senior... senior to what??  knowing a few specs on a webpage?

CoinTerra are professional scammers

We'd like to take a moment to address sharpspoon's concerns:

Where are the chips? Where are the PCBs? When will you ship?

It's so interesting to see that cointerra bothered to post such a long and useless reply when a forum member pointed out that there are some communication issues, but doesn't bother to post any updates regarding the miners

Batch 1 users have mostly been converted to batch 2 that was half the price.
Cointerra did so.

Batch 1 customers should have their hardware delivered on the date Cointerra originally promised, and kept promising for months.

As late as Oct 21, Cointerra was still pretending to be on schedule.

Bait: "Mid December Cointerra hardware"

Switch: "Late February Cointerra hardware (if nothing else goes wrong)"

The fact that Cointerra never made an announcement or updated their OP on this forum speaks to their dishonesty.

Even gmaxwell, certainly one of the most well-informed BTC hardware people on the planet, didn't find out Cointerra is screwing Batch 1 customers until a few days ago.

How can you possibly be OK with Cointerra waiting until December to cancel their December deliveries?

How can you possibly be OK with Cointerra hiding the bad news in an obscure technical update instead of being forthright?

Hashfast laughed at our faces when we asked it after that their released their 3 times cheaper pricing one month after batch 1.

You are right. This last post of yours doesn't mention Cointerra. My posts did. (except the one where i gave a good definition of what your forum personality is, but i think it was well deserved.)

The mods have already requested that we posters not stray too far from the OP:

Can you all please keep this thread on the subject of CoinTerra?  Some comparative mention of the competition is inevitable and fine, but if your messages are not PRIMARILY about CoinTerra thats not okay.

Off-topic replies have become a big problem. From now on, I will be deleting such replies without notice, forum-wide. If your replies disappear, this is probably why.

All replies must respond to the topic's original post in some way, even if they are replying to an on-topic reply. If your reply has nothing to do with the topic post, either add some content that is relevant or create a new topic.

Please report off-topic posts as soon as you see them.

fraud (noun)
1. wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

ICETARD... by your own account and definition you so graciously provided us, you yourself are a FRAUD .

I wonder how much "financial or personal gain" you receive from Hashfast for your continued trolling ...... Shocked

Did Eduardo take his ear-vibrator out for just long enough to promise you a few of those barely working, gargantuan "BabyJets" for your back talk?

It's sad that even in HashFast's forum posts everyone blocks the vile that seems to inexhaustibly spew from your fingers.

ICETARD... You are not a constructive member of the cryptocoin community and that is clearly relevant by the GLOWING ORANGE ignore button that follows your name.

NEVER go with ICEBREAKER... Here's a nice thread I found discussing ways to get rid of your nonsense completely...

Cointerra blatantly lied about delivery schedule.  They won't even have the chips from the foundry until a week after their "expected" ship date.

Cointerra 100% knew from day 1 there is no possible way they could ship in December.  Period.

They could have been honest and sold rigs for late Jan delivery and a much lower price.  But they LIED to their customers so they could charge more per GH/s.

They lied because they wanted to sell "Dec delivery" units at Dec delivery prices.  They "could" have sold Jan delivery units but that would have required much lower prices.

It is fraud, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

fraud (noun)
1. wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

They criminally deceived their customers using false claims in order to gain from that deception.  Dec delivery was not possible.  It wasn't that it was too optimistic, it is IMPOSSIBLE.  They knew that, yet made the claim anyways because it means more millions in their pockets.

They committed fraud to enrich themselves at the expense of their customers.

Cointerra lied to their customers to overcharge for products they had no ability to deliver.  They increased their selling price 200% at the expense of the customers they lied to.

Please stay on topic:
I'm on topic.

Cointerra: Let it's customers switch among batches.
Hashfast: did not. Batch 1 customers paid 15$/GH and the MPP is just a BS thrown around to make it look less of a robbery of what it actually is.

@HF, i know that you are reading, and i would like to give you a free advice. Paying Icebreaker simply will not work. It could have worked if you didn't have my money, but you have stolen from me, and i'm making it a personal goal to correct all of the false marketing you continuously throw around in the forum. (i've tried to file a compilant with adwords, without success...).

Well, i guess that i need to open the HashFast topic.

HashFast never allowed me to switch from batch 1 to batch 2 (when a few weeks after my purchase it was offered at one third the price i paid). John looked at me like an alien when i asked. Cointerra allowed their customers to do so.

Please stay on topic:

I split off a bunch of OT hashfast stuff into https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hashfast-troll-fest-split-from-the-cointerra-thread-372651

Despite not having completed their chip's design, Cointerra took in millions of dollars for non-existent hardware to be delivered in December 2013.

The only reason people paid such an enormous premium for this slickly-marketed but imaginary vaporware was the key selling point of "December" delivery.

TerraMiner IV will ship in December this year and retails for $15,750.

Cointerra intentionally downplayed their massive design problems to keep customers buying:

We are indeed on track for our delivery times. Mock tape-out was performed and our tape out is very near. The community can expect more information soon as we get closer to production.

Ill take your claims of shipping in december with at least the same amount of salt I took with HF's october claims and KnC's september claims. Lets just hope we dont need butterfly quantities of salt.

Depending on how much information you supply for the mock-tape out there does not have to be a significant time laps between mock tape-out, tape-out and production.

You can expect tape-out announcement soon and we are indeed still on time table for our production.

Significant payments made to fab to expedite process from usual 90+ days to 65 days.

Systems expected to begin shipping to customers, Mid December.

Even after the fact they botched their tape-out became public knowledge, Cointerra continued to lie and state "expected" shipping dates that were no longer possible to achieve.

Instead of being honest and offering full refunds, Cointerra hid behind weasel words like "expected" and blew smoke up our asses by yammering about some magical "expedited process."

Any updates on this?  If they don't tape out soon there's no way the December units are going to ROI.  What's with the complete lack of updates?

The mock-tape out is already made and we will be taping out shortly. Everyone can expect reports closer together in the near future as we get closer to chip production and other major events. We are still very much on track for our presented delivery time.

Most shameful of all is the fact that Cointerra hasn't posted the bad news using their official account, much less updated their OP to reflect their failure to deliver.

It fell to a new accounts with <20 posts to relay the 'guess what, chips are late' message, albeit cloaked in a load of rubbish and happy talk then buried on pages 52 and 54 of very long thread:

I spoke with "Peter" on the phone last Friday (December 6th) and he said that the first deliveries will be pushed back 7-10 days...so I doubt anyone will receive anything this year.

DATELINE 12/10/2013: AUSTIN, TX.

The fabout of the first wafers for the GoldStrike™ I is scheduled to occur on December 17th

Does anyone actually believe Cointerra only found out they'd blown their "mid-Dec" deadline on Dec 10th?

Or is it more reasonable to assume Cointerra already knew for a while they couldn't ship until Jan/Feb before letting their customers know?
